6 microquakes in Montana, within 2 minutes, within 100 mile radius? Interesting...
As I was paging through my EQ alerts I noticed 6 microquakes (M 1.0 - 1.5) happening in W. Montana around W. Yellowstone. When I cross-checked the time and locations, they all seemed to happen at about the same time (6:34PM-6:35pm) but separated by a good distance... not on the same fault.

Nothing out of the ordinary happening in Yellowstone itself, however. Golly, I wish I had real-time elevation data for that area. Has anyone in the area managed to notice any changes in well-water levels? EQ clouds? Lots of missing pets?

sorry, no link available. I could post the individual alerts that I recieve, but it would be a long post to include fairly dry and uninteresting information.

I cautiously note that I do not discount anything out-of-hand. That being said...

Looking at things strictly from a 4D geometric standpoint, the variation in the overall gravitational field of the earth when alligned with other planets is negligible. The other planets do not affect tides, and therefore do not affect the crust (at least gravitationally). The moon and the sun both distort the gravitational well of the Earth to a degree, and when the moon and the sun are in perfect opposition (full moon) our gravitational well resembles more of an ovoid than a sphere.

Is it possible that the barely noticeable change in the Earth's gravitational well could be the tipping point for something? Yes. Anything is possible. However, I would need to see a LOT more evidence before I put my trust in it fully.

This being said, it is fun to watch and see whether anything happens. Personally, I think there's a new uplift occurring in a wide radius around Yellowstone.
