Anti-abortion female Republican candidates could change political equation in Senate
By David Crary (CP) – 5 hours ago

NEW YORK, N.Y. — An unusually large contingent of female Republican candidates with strong anti-abortion views is heating up a social issues debate and could change the political equation in the next Congress.

Republican women who favour outlawing most abortions are competing for seats in the U.S. Senate in California, Nevada, Delaware and New Hampshire. All have been endorsed by Sarah Palin, the former vice-presidential candidate who calls herself a "pro-life feminist." All members of the House of Representatives and a third of the Senate will be on the ballot in November.
