Funny you mention that because i live upstate as well and not last night but 2 nights ago, i was outside and I always look in the sky for a few minutes on a nice night to see if i see anything. Soemtimes i see shooting stars and i thought even one time a UFO. But this time, i saw a plana with flashing lights lights. The only problem was, everytime the lights would flash, it would be half way across the sky already. It was real fast, and after it was almost out of sight, i then heard the jet engines. I was in the Marines on a airwing base and i know that sound anywhere. I was very surprised, i never see that either before and i been here for a very loooong time. I live in Dutchess county, near newburgh marine base and not too far from west point but it was from the completely opposite direction, and headed due east. Hmmmm this could be something.

F-16s are known as Falcons. The F-18 is the Hornet.
Just wanted to clear that up for you.
