Anonymous Coward User ID: 961308 United Kingdom 09/28/2010 12:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had a argument with a friend the other night over a few beers. He thinks peerguardian will keep him safe, I said it helps but can't be counted on. I come accross this thread, have a search to see if anyone near by is on the list and find one real close with a very familiar name, a quick check on 192 says its his sons (the family computer goto guys) house. I'm still laughing hard, waiting for him to answer my email. |

Use dedicated servers located in other countrys to download then ftp the data to your box. Most seedbox/ server hosting companys that deal with selling servers for file sharing wont let you use a " Public Tracker" tod/l from. |

Nightshade (OP) User ID: 599165 United Kingdom 09/28/2010 12:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Postcode search is no longer working, I'm afraid. "Google appear to have blacklisted the API keys which I use to perform postcode searches. As a consequence, this site no longer works. It probably won't be coming back. Thanks for all the interest anyway. We had a good 24 hours. See you next time something fun happens." |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1109188 Canada 09/28/2010 01:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why anyone still uses torrents for downloads is beyond me.. there are so many other routes you can take which don't involve 'sharing' the files with anyone else. Really, in some jurisdictions that's all you're getting punished for. When you torrent, you are sharing copyright material with others. Under Canadian law, we are still allowed to download material, provided it isn't uploaded or copied for anyone else. That will probably change soon, but guys.. just stay out of bittorrent. |

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving prick. I hope this is the death knell for ACS: Law and others like them. Just look at what we can do when the users of the internet come together to do some good. We should target every one of these companies and bring them to their knees. |
Nightshade (OP) User ID: 599165 United Kingdom 09/28/2010 01:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | GOOD NEWS!!! BSkyB, one of the UK's largest broadband providers, has said it will no longer cooperate with the requests of controversial solicitors' firm ACS:Law and that it will challenge them in court, after around 8,000 of its customers had their personal information leaked online. |
Nightshade (OP) User ID: 599165 United Kingdom 09/28/2010 01:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Interesting Article here. The emails contained some potentially embarrassing details about the practice at ACS:Law, particularly some indication that the firm targeted married men and pensioners with the gay porn allegations, hoping that it would prompt unquestioning payment from the accused. In other words, blackmail and extortion, using copyright as an excuse to obtain easy money from unsuspecting victims. [link to www.technollama.co.uk] |
