Why anyone still uses torrents for downloads is beyond me.. there are so many other routes you can take which don't involve 'sharing' the files with anyone else. Really, in some jurisdictions that's all you're getting punished for. When you torrent, you are sharing copyright material with others. Under Canadian law, we are still allowed to download material, provided it isn't uploaded or copied for anyone else. That will probably change soon, but guys.. just stay out of bittorrent.

BSkyB, one of the UK's largest broadband providers, has said it will no longer cooperate with the requests of controversial solicitors' firm ACS:Law and that it will challenge them in court, after around 8,000 of its customers had their personal information leaked online.

The emails contained some potentially embarrassing details about the practice at ACS:Law, particularly some indication that the firm targeted married men and pensioners with the gay porn allegations, hoping that it would prompt unquestioning payment from the accused. In other words, blackmail and extortion, using copyright as an excuse to obtain easy money from unsuspecting victims.

The personal details of a further 8,000 people alleged to have shared music or films illegally have appeared online.

A list of more than 8,000 Sky broadband subscribers and a second of 400 PlusNet users surfaced following a security breach of legal firm ACS:Law.

It comes after a database of more than 5,000 people suspected of downloading adult films emerged on Monday.

He has a face that just asks to be punched.
