Lots of home sales springing up in the neighborhood in the $250k and up area, but no one is selling anything.
We traveled to Texas this year and found nearly half of the billboards along the route were leasing. Anyone else notice lot's of blank billboards?
Lot's of empty office buildings but of course we build new ones instead of using the old ones.
Walked in Bob Evans on Sunday Morning at 11:00ish and was seated immediately. I always have to wait 15-20 minutes for a seat.
Everyone is asking for tons of big stuff on freecycle, cars, etc.
Empty parking spots in the fancy mall, last year you had to circle for a while.
My neighbors are still acting like there is no tomorrow buying expensive stuff like cars, invisible fences, furniture, etc. We buy used cars, freecycle, buy clothes when they are on sale at Kohls, and eat out once every two weeks or so.

You aren't that far from where I am, so it looks like we're seeing a lot of the same stuff going down.
I don't travel much, so I haven't noticed the billboards that are blank, so much.
But it fits.
I'm a sign painter, so I've been seeing the rapid decline of 'advertising' dollars going on ever since 9/11.
Many of the places I used to have as customers have shut down in the past 10 years.
The first to be hit with this was the little Mom and Pop places...then around 2005, I started seeing my bigger customers go down, like the Car dealership that was here in town for over 30 years, and had 5 seperate stores...they lost it all, and had to go into bankruptsy, now they have only 1 tiny showroom that still exists.
It's what has me concerned today about the things we are seeing.
The G'Mint nad everyone keeps saying that is's getting better...but when you walk around with your eyes wide open, it isn't what we're seeing.
