The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

Too late, they won't get re-elected by pretending now that they aren't in cahoots with him. Wouldn't bother me if the ground opened up and swallowed the whole lot of them...good riddance. |

They are running in fear from the backlash that is about to be unleashed on them in November and allowing resess appointment would just dump more fuel on the fire being hurled in their direction. I don't think they are doing anything more than trying to keep their jobs. Quoting: ResisterThey are running for their political lives right now. They know that they messed up big time when they bowed to the will of the dictator in the White House, instead of bowing down to the will of the people. They will get what they deserve.
