Jacob can you tell us what we should prepare for? What kind of doom is on the way? I don't understand how you can tell us how to prep for doom but can't tell us what doom is coming. I assure you I can prep 10 times better if I knew what instance of doom I'm about to under go.

OP, nothing against you. I can see you trying to help. Truth is, we don't know much. If things go bad, does fema open their doors? Does the military / police / authority stick around, or do they go back to their families? How bad is bad? Your list is a good start. Now think about multiple scenarios. Unless things are so big they destroy everything, people will be ok.

For the record, the Earth has had multiple EMF changes with only 5 mass extinctions. If anything happens, make sure you read between the li-e-nes.

Intermountain Rockies are often colder than south-central Alaska. Shorter Summer too. Elevation is not your friend in most cases...

Agree that being prepared is critical, but... one out of ten thousand is prepared or has the guts to just survive a backcountry NW MT Winter. Got a cabin, seasoned wood by the cord and food a-plenty; and are out of the line of fire, you might make it.

Live in the city? Got an RV or other vehicle that can transport gear? Might make it if you can do an extended camping trip to BLM or Natl Forest land and get off the radar.

Might make it in the city if you can pull an Anne Frank and setup a hidey-hole. Might make it in the suburbs if you can excavate a secret basement under your slab, A hammer drill or cement capable hole-saw can remove a piece of slab from some innocuous place like a rear closet. Dig-out and reinforce under your house and make an emergency exit under a bush or something.

Not gonna be possible to fill your larder from wild game.

5 to 25 gal propane cylinders will be best way to preserve fuel. Diesel #2 and Kerosene (diesel #1) store well for many years in sealed drums.

Hunting rifle with several thousand rounds of ammunition... Got any idea how much the ammo weighs? Don't really need a "hunting rifle", better to have a .308win military grade semi-auto like an M1a or AR-10; you can hunt with them and defend yourself. Not likely you'd need one living very remote, but better to have and not need...

There was some kind of crisis in the Middle East before the 2012 elections. A lot of countries sent armies to the area. This happens in the run up to the elections in the USA in November of 2012. There was a call to bomb one countries facilities, then there was a counter strike and that is when all hell breaks loose and there is an all out ground war that does not immediately involve any nuclear weapons.

The Tea Party organizes protests in DC against the war and this is just shortly before the election now, a few days before. My understanding is that the lead up to this takes at least 6 weeks. This shakes up the elections and all the political folks who were ahead are then behind in the polls. A dramatic shift happens in the national consensus. After the elections there are problems, people believe that the elections were not official or rigged.

Then there is a blackout and they stop reporting regular news, I believe this is when the government takes control. Then there is a problem with the Internet, it either stops working or is shut off. Shortly after that there is an electrical blackout. The only news anyone got was through radio, my Dad listened to the radio in the truck during this time. Then he heard something he didn't like and I remember standing there in awe of how panicked he seemed. I remember my parents rushing around the house, gathering up things and putting them in the truck. Then we were gone. This is one of the earliest memories I have, its rather vague, but later on my Dad helped fill in most of the rest. He never told me what he heard on the radio that freaked him out so much though.

Now as I said, the last newspaper that we saw at the Denver Post printing presses was dated November 22nd. It had in huge print on the front, "PRES OBAMA TO STEP DOWN!" and other headlines about a Black Friday but I am not sure why it was black. Sometime before the new year, my parents and I were living up in the mountains, this is after the news blackout and electricity stopped working. We lived there for many years, only getting news second hand a few times a year when we encountered someone out in the woods. We lived there for 15 years. For at least the first 2 years there was an orange glow on the horizon if you hiked up to the top of one of the mountains our cabin was located by. I remember seeing it and thinking it was normal, and only asking when I was about 4 or 5 years old, why the orange glow had gone away. My father said it was the Fires of Civilization but I still don't understand what he meant. I now believe it was many large forest fires probably caused by nuclear weapons.

If everything happens like I said in 2012, and I don't see why it wouldn't, I certainly havn't changed anything, then you need to be prepared. You all need to be prepared to defend yourselves and get out of the cities. You will know I am telling the truth in 2 years time, when there is war in the middle east and the Tea Party marches on DC and after the elections when there is a debate about the legitimacy of the current and past elections. Then there will be the news blackout, the Internet stops working, and then the electricity goes dead. I am pretty sure the last bit happened right around the date of the last Newspaper we could find which was dated November 22nd. So you should know by then. I can't say how much time you have after that, since we left Boulder for 15 years and didn't return. I think the war over here started before January 2013. To be safe, leave before the end of November, or earlier.

Now, can anyone tell me, since I am curious, what it means to have a "Black Friday"? That was a headline in the newspaper at the Denver Post that I saw. Does this mean a bad day? Does it have to do with astrology or something?

So Jacob, what about explaining the logic flaws in your original story instead creating a new thread?

-Well, we are going to sent this guy to the past, let's create a protocol for communication so we know it worked. He must leave a message buried at X location. Ok, it's decided then. Oh wait... wait! if we're in fact going to do that, it means that the message must be there buried already, because in some point in the near future we ALREADY sent this guy to the past and ergo he already buried the message! So the message must be there! If we can find it, it means it will work!


To clarify, having the scientifics waiting for your message is ridiculous. That's another timeline, the original. Since the very moment you arrived to 2010, you will create an alternative timeline where the message will be buried. It will not appear from nowhere as magic. It should be there from the very beginning, since 2010 until 2040 or when they finally decided to get it. When 2040 arrives, if you didn't change things around you too much since 2010, everything will happen more or less in the same way. Meaning, the scientifics will develop a protocol for communication, but then they will realize that the message must be there already, because it was done "before".

All the above means it's a infinite loop, meaning that a number of infinite times they sent you back, and an infinite number of times your buried that message, more or less in the same way if "you" was consistent with what they asked you to do.

What you say is that they didn't see any message before sending you back, they didn't even bother to look! That doesn't make any sense. It's like they ASSUMED it was the FIRST time, even when they should know that it could have happened "before" maybe billion of times!


I didn't read your toughts on this OP. Explain us why the scientists sent you back without looking for a buried message before.
