Scholars seem to agree that the 'Saying of Jesus the Christ' might be the source book that the writers of the Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John used as reference. Scholars refer to this as the Q document (Q=source). One wonders why some of these early Christian documents were left out of the original canon of scriptures. Perhaps verse 9 above has something to do with it.

Further research indicates that this is indeed a fake, but not a fraud. The author who wrote this was conducting an experiment to put himself into the heads of the gospel writers by composing his own apocryphal gospel. It was never meant to be taken as real.

If the hypothetical "Q" were ever found it would be big news all over the world.

Older does not equate with more authoritative. Why can't armchair scholars get that?

The text was surely not from Jesus talking in the first verse from God as a magician. Magic and mystic are usually seen dark hat for the Jews, so either Jesus was not a Jew and praised the magicians or was a Jew and it is a fake - I will call for the later because the magicians usually atheists or agnostic after having gone through the fall of Lemuria and then Atlantis. The magicians would call nobody in flesh the son of God (or they would have made the first step of accepting a personified God back into their lives).
