Am i the only one in the world who doesn't own a cell phone!!!!!

I have one, but it always seems to be uncharged. LOL I barely use it - only to text my kids, as that seems like the only method of communication they'll respond to. They don't check their voice messages.

I still have a laugh at the blue tooth users, however. They look schizo walking around talking out loud and laughing while shopping or standing in a line.

I'm sure lots of people in third world countries don't have cell phones.

I kinda have to have a cell phone, it's my only phone. Stopped using a land line 2 years ago.

It's hard to impress the point in not having a cell phone. My view, and i tell anyone that questions "why" that how or why would you want Gf's, Wives, Friends or whatever calling you ALL the time.

It's a collar around your neck..where are you at? what are you doing? yada yada yad.

If you want to talk to me, then call me when you know I am home, evenings. Leave a message on my answering machine, Ill call you back. I AM NOT GOING TO BE CONTROLLED BY AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE!

Me either. I had one for a few months, got lymphoma and never had one since. My lymphoma took a turn for the best when the phone was gone. The cancerous lymph nodes were on the same side I talk on.

I get weak and sick feeling when ever I am around transmission centers for extended time. In example, I had a job that was right next to a large cell tower. I got tired, sick and felt terrible until I quit the job.

I always felt better when the power was off locally from storms or whatever caused it.

Long story short, there are people who are sensitive to RF and you may be one of them. It is a blessing and a curse all in one. It's a blessing because you can read natural RF easily but modern tech really beats us down.

A lot of my youthful energy faded some when cells phones were introduced en'mass years ago.

I would LOVE a world with out RF.

Yep, it seems too high stress to be available ALL the time. I liked it better in the old days. No one bugging you until you got home to your land line.

Besides I hate talking on the phone for more than a minute. My ear starts to hurt and I get a headache. I'd much rather talk in person. Probably because the most important communication takes place with facial expressions and body language. Words are not adequate.

my wife refuses to carry one and one of the instructors at the college I work for refuses to carry one. I won't carry one fancier than a $20 tracphone.

You don't have to answer your phone every time it rings.

I'm a 58 year old male and single. I finally got a "Jitterbug" phone because I wanted to be able to call for help if I ever have a breakdown on the road, especially at night. I don't feel the need for access to the internet, a camera, and all that other crap while I'm in the car. I just need to be able to call someone.

My housemate has to have the latest thing out and everything that comes with it. It's his constant companion. It's crazy.

Good for you OP. We broke down and got cell phones about 7 years ago when I was pregnant with our oldest child. I have the very basic model and basic service, I hardly use the phone but have it primarily just for emergencies. My husband, on the other hand, has upgraded service and an upgraded model as he does a lot of side work and will e-mail pics or text customers.

Yes, the red key is your friend. Having a cell phone does not mean you have to use it all the time.

I used to not have one but then I got an Iphone, they are a bunch of fun apps!

I am old school and have never had one to date. I guess they would have their pluses and minuses but I refuse to be a slave to a damn phone every minute of the day. The young people of today need to experience the ol put your finger in the rotary dial and place the call deal. Waiting for the EMP to hit then we will see what age groups are really unable to deal with loss of modern gadgets. I am sure that will create the next civil war in this country.

Yes this is true but people have gone from no longer needing a LL in the house to using a portable. To each their own I guess.

Why would I pay to be disturbed more often ?

Our first rule is we NEVER call people canceling their landline and expect us to call on the cell phone. This is cheap for you and the calling person pays three times the price for it. This is cheap saving at the cost of others.

LOL so true:) I guess that's what it is, i just value my peace.

Obviously not considering most of the people in the world live on less than $1 a day

That's exactly what i tell my husband All the time. I really do think that people are scared to be alone with themselves and with there thoughts.

Actually, I thought I was the only one without a cell phone...lol

This is not a collar. It is such that it gets harder and harder to find at all a booth to call when you get late for instance and other people with a cell phone EXPECT you to call if you are 5 minutes late. So far I switch it on once a week to check for SMS but since I am not giving the number around, you have to call my husband to get my number.

It is only a collar if you want it to be so or become addicted to it.

What's to get? You're the only one afraid dialing a number and hitting send.
