** Weird Tropical Storm Otto coming to Portugal? ** WTF!!!

I dont think its going straight at us, but is fucking with our weather allright!!!

Heavy rains, very windy etc...

Problem is:

This one is going to hit us.

Second problem and this is MAJOR problem:

This storm "was" supposed to go to the gulf - NOT to the atlantic and NOT to Portugal.

Something is messing with the Atlantic Current BIG TIME!!!

Please any METEOTARD to explain us!

I havent see anything like this before...maybe the Gulf Stream is really fucked up!!!

Just a bit of info on WHY i think this is really a problem:

I am a surfer. I surf for what? 18 years?

I know when Autumn arrives in Portugal we get lots of storms coming from south, or southwest.

But these are hot storms, you know? 3 days of humid weather and then rain, lot's of rain for a couple days.

BUT last year we had 2 different south storms with VERY STRONG winds, remember?

And now, Autumn comes, and BANG! We have today/tomorrow a big storm with fast winds (100km) and next week we get Tropical Storm Otto.

Something is different.

Gulf current shutting down? Atlantic current shutting down?

In one of the forecast models, the storm will pass south of Portugal and then through the middle of Spain!

The Gulf Stream has not shut down. Look at this site:

Compare 'Courant' at different depths this month to the same month back a few years. There's no difference.

We have had some pretty big autumn storms the last few years, there's no doubt about that; they are unlikely to be linked to any "shutdown" of the Gulf Stream because it has not shut down.

Storms with these kind of winds?

I can only remember last couple years and I live 50 meters by the sea... facing south.

Although Otto is progged by the NHC to affect the Azores short-range 3-4 days. Further out its track is somewhat complicated, anywhere from the Bay of Biscay to Nigeria has potential to be within this ex-Hurricane (at the time forecast) path.
Otto in its favoured environment could get as high as a medium-strong CAT2.
