Thanks GLP, because of an article here, my wife is not sick anymore - Aspartame Poisoning | |
Ice Princess User ID: 875198 United States 10/08/2010 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am fully gob smacked...I knew that aspartame was not good for you and will not have it in the house...I didnt realise the extent of this poison tho' Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1124041My sister in law has fibromyalgia and drinks about a litre of diet coke a day, she is also quite overweight, I just rang her and read a few facts out to her , she said "I know its poison, but I cant stop" after a bit more of a chat she has changed her mind and we are both going to clean up our diets, I also suffer some health issues but dont take any sweetners, how ever I drink about two gins and tonic a day, I eat white bread and love my cheesy corn chips...I will be eliminating these from my diet and looking at other things I consume like canned foods and sauces Thank you so much for this thread. You love the cheesy chips because they are loaded with monosodium glutamate in one form or another. That's why they are soooo addictive. My kids go insane if they see a bag of Cheetos in the store. I will either just say no, or buy them an all-natural cheeto not made with MSG or torula yeast. My mouth waters thinking about Cheetos or Doritos, they are like cocaine, once you have a taste of them you never stop craving them. At least that's true for many people. I remember in the 80's Nutrasweet sent out gumballs made with it so people could see how it tasted. Must have cost them a lot to send those out to everybody but they did. Friggin drug pushers, which to me that's what it is since I have met some serious Diet Coke addicts. They drink it when they wake up even. Disgusting. How about the people who go into gas stations every morning and fill up a 64 ounce cup with Diet Coke? Wth are they thinking. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1085395Just as a neat little experiment for your own information. Make a list of all the food commonly eaten by your family on a regular basis and then cut out all the processed stuff for about a month or 2 and see what results you experience. Soda pop, white bread, margarine, canola oil, white sugar, condiments and sauces, fast foods, snack foods, deli meats and sausages, etc, that kind of stuff. You can find good lists on the internet. Replace with whole, fresh, made from scratch foods that are definitely good (and there are many lists available with a little searching around) You have heard all the claims and nay-sayers, so the only way to really "know" is to do the experiment for yourself and see the results. You found out that the aspartame was a real detriment to the health and now you "know"...you have only just started to take back your health. Going to do this and blog it. Thanks for a GREAT idea!!!! I'm 4 days into a juice fast and I'm dying. I have up alcohol, coffee and all food and drink only 4 cups of fresh vegetable and fruit juice. I have been praying to get through each day without giving up. I'm going for 5 days. I did this because of digestive issues. I just wanted to give my body a chance to heal. I would suggest everyone think about fasting. It's a trip. All kinds of old emotions and traumas are coming to the surface and at time I feel so agitated and others times so at peace, like nothing I have felt in ages. My digestive problems seem to have started right about when I started smoking a couple cigarettes a day. I also gave those up. |

Maybe it's time to spring for the more expensive all-natural gum. I do like the black licorice one. They just don't hold their flavors for long, but better than brain damage! Theres a popular young Australian actress that eventually got hospitalized from panic attacks after being a sugarless gum chewer..she stopped the sugarless gum and made a full recovery, She said she thought she would die when they didnt know that the gum was causing her symptoms. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 875198 United States 10/08/2010 11:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | on top of poisoning herself, you said she lost weight after finally eliminating equal from her diet. how could a person continue using a so called diet aid, when they are gaining weight? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1002171Scientist have proven that diet drinks still act on the brain the exact same as sugar and so therefore impact your HORMONES. Although you are not ingesting the calories, it makes you more insulin resistant because your body over produces hormones related to the SENSE of sugar in the body. It's complicated but it has been proven. Diet drinks cause you to gain weight by resetting your metabolism. They make you hungrier and you consume larger quantities of food. HFCS or corn sugar gives you essentially twice the calories of the same amount of cane sugar. HFCS has fructose floating around freely and you body can use it directly. With cane sugar your body has to use energy to break the sugar down into usable form. With cane sugar you get effectively half the calories, since you use energy to break the sugare down. With HFCS you get twice the amount of calories since you do not have to break the HFCS down. Mexican coke, jones sodas, and hanson sodas all use real cane sugar. The latest sugar products from coke and pepsi use gmo sugar beets not cane sugar. I had NO idea. I had a Pepsi throwback not too long ago and felt like crap afterwards which does not happen when I drink mexican coke. Wow. Thanks for the alert. I will now not drink anything not listed as cane sugar. |

The complete thing is on youtube. It is becoming clear that if you want to stay healthy it's best to NOT eat anything processed, and you need to buy local and organic when you can. Eat like your grandparents or we are going to be those little green men coming back from the future trying to discover how to save our DNA lol. Between all the chemicals they are putting in processed foods, the lack of nutrition in them, the Genetically Modified Foods, Cloned Foods (yep you heard me right) the high intake of sugar (even reg sugar/in the early 20th century we use to consume 5 lbs per person per year and it's now 150+ lbs per year/inflammation is a component in EVERY DISEASE), transfats ... and you name it, we are killing ourselves (their design) Here is the beginning of Food.inc Enjoy! |
