in exchange we receive the free gift of His righteousness

there is nothing we can do to earn or attain this -- the free gift is by God's sovereign grace. eternal life has already been provided for all of us.

the Lamb of God came to take away the sin of the world. not cover it up or excuse it. to take it away. we are justified when we believe in Jesus

and so we shall ever be with the Lord. His grace, His love, His mercy, and His forgiveness are His promises for us.

and we are sealed with His Holy Spirit as a down payment and a guarantee ;-)

I am not altogether sure that Catholics are actually Christians. They tend to idolatry and do not promote the teachings of Christ as a way of life very much. They concentrate more on symbols, people and clothing, than they do on what Jesus stood for. Catholics are Christian in name only.
