yeah yeah ET

tell me, did you enjoy your last meal out?

did you tip?

this is a fucking bullshit 'look at me aren't I fucking brilliant' thread, and you KNOW it!

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed my last meal out.

It was a little Mexican restaurant, owned by, guess who, an entrepreneur and his wife. I always tip 20%.

This wasn't meant to be a look at me thread, sorry if it comes across that way.

I am genuinely baffled by how our society has so completely changed in so little time.

I get that there are some people who are genuinely happy working for a paycheck and leaving all the other headaches to someone else. There just seems to be a whole lot more of them than there were a few decades ago.

I used to do well self employed, then I got hired and shit went down hill.

Taking me a long time to build back up to where I was at before depending on a company.

Working for someone sucks.

What happened to the entrepreneur's spirit?

I've been self employed most of my life. I have taken employee positions a few times, briefly, when times were tight, but I hated every single minute of it.

I can't imagine being happy working for someone else my entire life.
 Quoting: Evil Twin

self employment the way you and many like you describe it, is a myth created by your hidden masters.

you still have to slave for your customers, your business relationships and the taxman. in fact in many ways, you are even a bigger slave than you realise because having an own company totally takes your life over. and you feed the system you allegedly oppose way more than any 'wage slave'.

you have nothing to gloat about.

about a dozen of my friends have companies, they all work 12-14 hours a day 6-7 days a week.

yes they earn more money (which they, or rather their wives and kids spend on trash), but they look 10 year older than me at around the same age. and all they talk about is money stress money buy stress divorce money buy stress hate this shit money buy fuck life money stress.

there is real self employment though, namely you have your own unique skill, you present it and get cash money in return. if it is not paid fully in cash, it is no true self employment, because then you involve the system feeding on you, enslaving you, limiting you.

i play guitar and piano on an advanced level, i give lessons to kids and teenagers, 3 days a week, 4 hours a day, 50 euros per hour (which is a cheap price in my european country, using a proxy now), monthly income 2,400 euros CASH (3,340 dollars). if i wanted i could get 2 times more students, but screw money.

i already earn almost 2 times more than i need to live while renting a luxurious country villa surrounded by peace and nature. been like this 13 years and saved up more than 80k euros cash (111,000 dollars) hidden between the walls in a fire safe lock box, even though i already gave a lot to family and friends in need over the years, and buying the things i need or wanted. no where any loans, no payback, no nothing.

now that is real self employment the way it used to be...not running a company you think is your own, while the system owns your ass through all the regulations and being a bigger slave than the 'wage slaves' you look down upon from your high horse.

I don't work right now. I have so much of everything it's ridiculous.

All I really need is a more reliable car. I can understand wanting things, but I ave literal multitudes of the same thing. I could start a store. Being unemployed the last year and a half shows me how much excess I really have that compensates for other types of emptiness. I think a lot of people cover sadness with stuff.

Need a professional organizer/personal assistant? That's what I do. :)

I generally only have one client at a time though, I'm still on call once a week for my previous one when he needs help.

I work for room, board and a small salary. :)

Damn straight. That is excellent. You are earning from your uniqueness. But the secret is, everyone is unique. Why do we buy books written by 24 YO's that cook, when we can cook much better, and the same goes for interior decorating crafts etc. We all have something special and unique to offer. The main goal of globalists is that we are all oxygen thief sponges that only take and give nothing. Basically that's their game, to always accuse others of what they are. Why do we need to pay some lying traitor thief money? Why should parasites keep getting a free ride. Politicians are like having a tapeworm that puts you down for not eating lobster and chi chi caviar because that's what the killer of your health and well being fancies. Why in the hell do we agree to these abuses? Fucking crap.

Re: How Did They Train Everyone To Want a Job?
Prior to the industrial revolution there was no concept of being unemployed. People got by on subsistence farming and selling their own handicrafts.

The industrial revolution made it easy to quickly and cheaply mass produce many items that people used to painstakingly make by hand to earn any cash they needed.

A woman who spent weeks shearing, spinning, dying, and knitting her own wool just to make a few scarves could not compete with a factory rapidly mass producing scarves and selling them much more cheaply than she could afford to do.

So people began flocking to the cities to work for the factories that had put them out of the handicraft business.

This is where "everyone wanting a job" all began, though it took many more decades for it to become ingrained in the Western psyche.

Government takeover of the education system helped cement it. In public schools everyone is taught, "To become successful, go to college and get a good job." You'd have to go to an elite, private school to even hear entrepreneurialism mentioned.

Then add in the fact that government regulations keep making it more and more difficult and expensive to start up and succeed at having your own business. I had to starve for months just to come up with enough money to pay the required estimated taxes before I could even begin mine. How ridiculous! Being required to pay taxes on money you haven't even made before you can start doing business is insane!

Working for yourself requires too much effort for most people..

theres much more to it then that..

our education.school system is not even setup to make humans independant or teach them the skills to be independant.

Then a lot of it is poor parenting. My parents, not the schools, set the example and taught me to be as independent as possible.

Re: How Did They Train Everyone To Want a Job?
employees are self employed, they are renting themselves out for an hourly rate. School is directing everyone to this business of owning only one asset, themselves, and improving it with data, programing, that allows it to do more jobs.

This sector is very heavily subsidized, with up to secondary education being payed for. A person who payed for a college education is investing in a business, and if they don't get the credit, then it's a failed business. No wonder why everyone says "get a education if you want to make money," it's because it's a very very government funded business, and they, the students, spend oh about 15 years preparing, before they even have a chance to turn a revenue.

there's ofcourse bigger more important things to say about this but you won't understand.

Re: How Did They Train Everyone To Want a Job?
The rise of corporate monopolies in various industries have all but erased the days when people could actually make a living in small towns and communities by owning their own businesses and offering their own services.

Sure, there are certainly still opportunities out there for people to strike out on their own and be successful but capital and market power are now so centralized into such a small group of large corporations that the norm is to simply claw one's way into the corporate machine or be content to toil along in the customer-facing positions offered by those companies.

But the bottom line is that keeping people in wage slavery is good for big business. And the fact that they have programmed entire generations to want to wage slaves is pretty damn remarkable.

The media is a powerful force.

Re: How Did They Train Everyone To Want a Job?
100+ years ago in the USA, everyone wanted to be self sufficient, whether it was owning your own farm, or a small business. Nobody wanted to depend on someone else to make a living.
 Quoting: Evil Twin

You have a blind spot when it comes to history.

100+ years ago (1900-1920) there were slave wages, child labor and a good deal of poverty.

While many still lived on the farms of the USA, they were working poor, many barely covering their assets from year to year, a decent chunk on the verge of bankruptcy all of their lives.

Post World War 1 brought a new idea in living, factory labor. folk started leaving the farm for factory work, they discovered they could earn more while actually working less. even though they were working 16 hour shifts and kids still worked.

Post World War II, we have the full swing into working for 'The Man' and living in Suburbia where the 'American Dream' of a three bedroom house, white picket fence, 2.5 kids etc came into being.

This American dream brought with it TV, Telephone, new shiny cars, home ownership for many than in any time in history.

Actually compared to history our current system is still the 'better' of all we have had to offer for the majority.
