Petrus in Latin means - rock
Petros in Greek means - rock

However, Petrus in German means - god or rather it indicates a name of a god.

Quite clever those serpents how they manage to hide things right under your noses.

Gott is God in German
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1125774

Ancient German tongue.

Description of a Swiss holiday resort. I can think how to rephrase this but what does the first part of this sentence mean, out of interest?

"*Und sollte es Petrus mit dem Wetter mal nicht so gut meinen*, erreicht man Städte wie Luzern und Bern im Handumdrehen."

If the (weather) god(s) are unkind to you

It just means: if the weather isn't fine - we say Petrus as he is supposed to make the weather
