France goes on strike after the President allowed the retirement age to raise to 62 from 60
The country of France is shutting down it seems:

I think it is a good thing for the people to stick together and protest against their "leaders". Hopefully more nations follow suit.

The consequences will NEVER be the same!

And of course more than just refining oil...

"
PARIS The confrontation between the French government and unions over plans to reform the pension system intensified on Tuesday as transport and energy workers, teachers and civil servants went on strike across the country.
Multimedia

Unions in some sectors including transport, ports and power have toughened their stance, threatening to prolong the strikes. They have given local chapters the authority to decide on a daily basis whether to renew the action. Unions have also called another day of demonstrations on Saturday.

In France they have guaranteed health insurance and 6 weeks of paid vacation a year, so they can afford to strike.

Here in America, you would lose your health insurance, have no vacation days left, or get fired.

Thats not true.

Look where it went in the first place, into the EU pockets.

it was used to support countrys that really had nothing to do in the EU and this was our downfall.

We spent money to AFRICA for completely useless programs, and support former soviet countrys for god knows why.

in reality if the natives continue to be disruptive to the French elite then the French government will simply truck in some poverty stricken muslims, offer them half the salary as the existing workers thereby increasing profit margins and, quite importantly, France will be yet another glowing global example of the tenets enshrined within the halls of immigration and tolerance

And in the USA now you are mandated to have health insurance. It differs on who shoulders the bill. You are in a good job that gives you 2 to 3 weeks a year paid vacation in the USA.

You make a good point.

this was the reason why i left germany 3 years ago and went to NovaScotia, Canada. It was my best desicion for the fact that the nature here is gorgeous, i have lakefront property on one of the most prestine lakes here in the province, almost no neighbours, a lot of friendly and warm people around here. But when it comes to politics i can tell u that it is the same everywhere: they all know how to spell corruption!! but at least my taxmoney nowadays doesnt't go anymore into the support of the total fail whats called the EU!!

Wrong, traitors in the seventies gave away our right to borrow from our national central bank, for the benefit of private banksters and greedy usury operators, what we owe them at this point is close to be the total interest accumulated since then.

Edited to add : right in the sense that EU added to the problem, but we lost control before the euro was implemented in all members states at that time, now it's even worse because EU is now effective and can enforce any legislation.
