Yeah, he is a douche about 9-11. It'll get you an autoban on his board. He's also anti-precious metals. I once asked Jim Willie (who hates Denninger) why he thought Karl was so anti-PM and WIllie said it's because PM's aren't "sexy" enough for him - he's a trader, that's exciting and PM's are not "exciting." LOL But, it is significant if he's starting to see the handwriting on the wall, because all his cash he earns from trading won't be worth much of anything at all with what is coming if he doesn't convert it to PM's. Otherwise, Denninger is brilliant and is doing an invaluable service to the public by documenting all the fraud. |

Hmmm no. That's Glenn Beck. Denniger just think they are crazy. But he doesn't really care... fact is, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, the most important issue IS THE FUCKING CORRUPTION AND THE ECONOMY ON THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE. And he agrees it's been ALL ENGINEERED... IT'S WAY WORSE THAN 10.000 9/11.... When the US goes down by design, probably millions will die, if no world war erupts... and if it does, BILLIONS will die. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 764206 ![]() 10/13/2010 04:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is an EXTREMELY important comment from the OP's original disccusion link: "Karl Denniger has posted 4 pages worth of blog posts today -- more in ~8 hours than he usually does in a week or two. This story is moving very quickly and is getting scarier and scarier every day as more information comes out, mostly through court filings. There are some very sharp independent analysts - Karl, Reggie Middleton, Yves at Naked Capitolism, Jim Willie, Jim Sinclair, Janet Tavakoli, etc that are following this very closely. Expect this story to slowly build. We probably have ~3 weeks until after the election. For three weeks, it will be covered up to the maximum extent possible. Media coverage will mostly be in the alternative media, the finance blogs, and the finance press (e.g. Bloomberg; Fox Business News, CNBC). Expect the politicians and main stream media (including the main Fox channel) to downplay the mess and focus on the paperwork problems NOT the REMIC / fraud problems. The paperwork mess is bad and will cost the banks tens of billions in the attorney and accountant full employment act of 2010. It will convert millions of mortgages into unsecured debts that will have low collectability. Note that after accounting for transaction costs, most banks are currently only collecting 5% to 10% of the value owed today with the ability to foreclose. Expect this figure to drop in the several % range. The REMICs will cost them trillions of dollars as essentially all mortgage backed securities including 100% of Fannie/Freddie debt and all non-GSE MBS debt will be pushed back to the banks. This will trigger a bank holiday as every major bank -- Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, PNC, Wells Fargo, etc instantly go boom and become FDIC takeovers. Once this mess starts rolling after the election, I do not know if they can push the coming bank holiday and collapse into 2011. Maybe but assume not. Keep in mind that if more than one of these "Too Big to Fail" banks implode, they will take down most of the rest in hours or days. Think a nuclear chain reaction. I do not see how a bank holiday could be avoided (either a complete closure or partial one with limited withdrawals) as it would take many days (probably weeks) to sort through the mess. These are not close the bank on Friday night and reopen under a new name on Monday morning FDIC takeovers - these are multiple orders of magnitude more complex. This will cause hyperinflation. Last month, John Williams of Shadowstats predicted that the likely time horizon was in 6-9 months (March to June 2011). This mess will likely move the timing forward a few months. Personally, I would keep minimal cash in ANY bank and would particularly avoid the large ones. I would keep significant cash, including enough to pay your next two property tax bills (our county tax is due in June and December of each year). Don't be surprised to see large numbers of tax foreclosures by cash strapped local governments next year for non-payment of property taxes - the exact same thing happened in 1932 with the bank holiday then -- this is why you want enough cash for the next year of property taxes due. Beyond that, invest in tangibles. Start with 1+ year of food and all consumables you use in a year. Be prepared for the loss of grid utilities (electricity, water, natural gas). Then invest in gold and silver. Dr. Richard" |

Denninger explained it many times why precious metals in a real TOTAL COLLAPSE of the US economy are worthless. The US government will just confiscate it, or issue a new currency... and once you transfer from gold to the new currency, they will tax the hell out of you... and basically render your gold worthless. Not to mention, in a real collapse scenario, if there's no food, there's no food/fuel, doesn't matter if you have gold or not. Denniger says buy land, food, ammo and gun before buying precious metals... and I agree with him.... |

His take on 911 bugs me too, but his reason is primarly that his site is for financial stuff and he doesn't want to cloud the issues. I wonder what he would have to say in private, when shown the overwhelming evidence of the falsity of the 911 commision. |

a passing cloud User ID: 616505 ![]() 10/13/2010 05:03 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | karl's been giving mixed signals about what he sees coming for the past two years. a multi-millionaire like KD converting "all" to tangibles would supply a decent sized small town, so i think there is some degree of hyperbole in that statement. if karl said this after a series of phone consultations with highly placed people [heck, he has some of the best contacts in the money world] THEN i'd be more spooked by these comments. but there isn't much specific doom i can infer from what he's said here. i still say: no trigger, no DOOM- and THEY control all the triggers. when would THEY want to "pull" the entire system? your guess is as least as good as mine. why did i send myself to this world?? there must have been a reason. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1122343 ![]() 10/13/2010 05:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | close to bug-out" Quoting: TBerri 1123378For those that don't follow Karl Denninger, let me help flesh out the situation. Karl has for a very long time (as long as I've been reading him, a good three years now I'd guess) been saying that the government needs to step up and prosecute and stop the fraud and make people accountable and end the Too Big To Fail, etc. He has NEVER EVER supported precious metals being a good idea, because over time, stocks have ALWAYS done better. Being at the end of a multi-generational cycle (maybe hundreds of years long) where that 'truth' is no longer dependable, has him now rethinking his position. Well, he's now gone beyond that. Well beyond that, into territory that should, given his background, scare the crap out of everyone. For a guy like this to see the graffiti on the wall, and to know that there is no escape, should scare the crap out people. This is the most earth shaking thing I've read from him ever. This quote in the comments thread just about says everything you need to know: Karl: "I am getting very close to going "bug-out", converting all to tangible value items, and deciding that right or wrong, I'm gonna live it out where I don't care. go to url for full text [link to 74.39.184.126] the guy has trashed Jim Sinclair for the last 5 years as gold has done exactly what Sinclair predicted. the guy has trashed gold and silver, REAL MONEY, for years the guy even went so far as recently removing his "Precious Metals" catagory from his public forum. WHY? no pity here. he ignored/trashed real money for years, he'll get what he deserves. |

There is no government intervention or PPT. Oh yeah, gold and silver are bad investments too. Yep, and Karl was determined to get to the bottom of the US Treasuries confiscated in Italy heading to Switzerland! And Karl has been demanding jail time for bank fraudsters!! And there is no PPT!!! They guy has an ego bigger than Alex Jones's. |

As mentioned previously, considering his stance on 9-11, I think I am in good counsel to trust my own gut on the merits of owning PM's. His problem with PM's is he conveniently leaves out the fact that it is CURRENCY, which is MUCH more important at the moment than the fact that it also happens to be a commodity. I like my bets hedged in gold, (and food, ammo, etc.) thank you very much. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1128974 ![]() 10/13/2010 05:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tangible assets include: Land Farmland Livestock Food - dried, frozen, canned - easily stored Cash, ammo Fuel - gasoline, wood, coal Consumables like toilet paper, lightbulbs, batteries, etc. A freezer, a generator, potable water source Good walking shoes A bike or mode of transport that has low fuel needs like a scooter. I don't believe in apocalyptic scenarios - even these days - but it's good even if you live somewhere with even the remotest prospect of either a natural disaster or a blackout. An ice storm in the Ottawa & Quebec region in 1998 left some people without power for over three weeks. Always worth it to be at least somewhat prepared. I'm also thinking of looking into some sort of trade certification - plumbing, hvac, electrician, etc. - if TSHTF skilled labor is still something that will be needed, if only as a barter mechanism. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1129183 ![]() 10/13/2010 05:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've read Karl's articles regularly. I have grown to admire his words and his thought process. I've reached the "bug out" phase too. It scares me if he's arrived at the same conclusion, but it certainly doesn't surprise me. My retirement accounts are as closed down as I can, some monies are unfortunately locked up... oh well. I have enough. What I don't have, however, is the all important "safe destination" property with land to grow food and a clean fresh source of water... I kind of look forward to what may be coming... but only because it will be the ultimate adventure, life and death and all. Truth be told, I was never happy living the 2 1/2 kids and a white picket fence" existence anyway. Modern life is so full of fake, material happiness, vanity, shallowness. Survival of the fittest will be exciting. If I die? Oh well. Godspeed Karl, and all good folk who haven't participated in the planned downfall. |
