It is the very division within the Protestant sects that proves they are on the right track. When Jesus walked on this earth the divisions began. Everyone fought over how to interpret his ministry from the very beginning, yes, even the people who would later call themselves Catholics. Without him, Catholicism would not exist. You do not own him. Even though people who are peacemakers are blessed, Jesus himself came to bring division. He wants us dependent on him not some organization. Read your bible. Division is suppose to happen. You only have a couple of divisions in your religion, just like the Jews and the Muslims. Sure, the Catholic church did do a fair amount of editing and coalescing of the bible we now see today. But Catholics did not author scripture. It was already around. But "The Church" represented in the very bible you Catholics have supplied us with is built on the rock of the divine revelation which comes from the Father in Heaven that Jesus is the Messiah and the son of the living God. (Matt 16) Catholics don't own that revelation. It is available to every heart that wants to receive it.

If you don't interpret the bible, I'd like to know how you understand the groups of symbols on the page. You interpret them as words. You interpret the meaning of the words, don't you? Where do you stop the interpretation?
How do you understand the parables, if you or some other person doesn't interpret them? If you learned their meanings in church, then it must mean that someone at church somewhere along the line must have interpreted them. Sure, the Catholic church did do a fair amount of editing and coalescing of the bible we now see today. But Catholics did not author scripture. It was already around. (Matt 16) Catholics don't own that revelation. It is available to every heart that wants to receive it.

If you don't interpret the bible, I'd like to know how you understand the groups of symbols on the page. You interpret them as words. You interpret the meaning of the words, don't you? Where do you stop the interpretation?
How do you understand the parables, if you or some other person doesn't interpret them? If you learned their meanings in church, then it must mean that someone at church somewhere along the line must have interpreted them. that was a quote from another thread... mary magadalene is being discussed as either *Jesus*'s wife, or twin sister ..both theories are being presented. And that this Mary, was His favorite apostle, so to her he gave his wisdom (not the 12 disciples) and from this Mary we get our wisdom today.
