Poor people dont have a chance in their homeland, so they go out and search for other countries where they might have a chance. Surely they have not much chances for work in highly industrial countries with a good education niveau. But welfare in germany is better than welfare somrwhere in Anatolia. It's much more comfortable to live from welfare money in a rich state than to be a farmer with no welfare money in a poor country.

A country can absorb such immigrants to a certain point. But at a certain point the balance is lost. No, I agreed with you - but that is not the whole issue. I don't like how she turns it into a campaign that will only throw more fuel into the fire. I worry what's becoming of Germany...and I see hard working people struggling. She won't change anything...just cause more hate. And when people realize after elections that nothing's changed, what will happen? Same disappointment most people experience now with Obama in the US. That's all I'm saying.

Ok what does this have to do with national socialism and adolf? Many cities already have ghettos here, but voluntary ones, if you go to parts of berlin or cologne you would think you are in istanbul.
Now wanting immigrants to at least try to integrate is too much to ask? Its not like we are invading people, expelling and torturing the inhabitants like certain countries.

You usually use words very well. I don't mean all Germans so please don't take it that way. I'm simply saying considering what was experienced during and leading up to WWII one needs to be careful about encouraging intolerance - some scary stuff took hold over there, so one needs to be sensitive to this. That's exactly what I'm saying - it's the "alle ueber den Kamm scheren" I don''t like. You shouldn't be thrown into the same bucket with everybody else. But her speech says just that, that people like you don't fit in. The regular Hans and Gretl on the streets won't know the difference between you or another guy from the middle east, will they? She instills hate crime. The government screwed up, now they want to turn people against each other and make life for innocent people like you very difficult and dangerous.
Do I think the law should be changed? Heck yeah...but not because of the muslims, certain countries and groups other than them cause more problems and they do nothing to integrate, instead commit crimes and live off the german system.
There's a bigger picture to this story. If she actually changes the law, then I stand corrected, but I doubt it. And the german speaking part to immigrate is already in place. So nothing new there.

The fact that so many politicians show they are xenophobic or at least fearful of Muslims and support nationalism is not good. Most people here seem to not understand or don't care, but it doesn't bring peace.
But some stuff maybe could have been handled better when people immigrated. I don't believe in 911 terrorism profit wars, but I do see trouble between some immigrants not getting accepted and slowly becoming depressed and disappointed in life in general. These people can have kids that start trouble. And it all costs money to have that misery continue...
So it is probably a good thing that new people do get taken along a ride of learning the language, maybe a skill and to the search of work...
But you say, the laws are there already, it is just fuelling anti-islam feelings. Well did you see already we read her statement wrong, and she did not bring in religion, we did (and probably all her listeners...)

I don't have a link because it was tv. Of COURSE she won't say the exact words "Muslims", that wouldn't be politically correct now would it?
