We have shitty coverage at our house, so hubby can't use cell phone.

I'm one of those freaks that doesn't own a cell phone.

How do you think most people with DSL internet service get the "DSL"?

No land line here. The funny thing is, some people that ask for our home number seem really surprised that we don't have one. One business place said they could not do business with us without a home phone. I don't remember what it was..homeowners insurance maybe? Anyway, I said, 'Ok, bye.' They then said to hang on, that they would work something out.

We still have a landline phone. We actually had one with a dial up until about five years ago.

I have one, it's mostly for my kids to use though...I commute 30 mins each way and they get home before i do....just like to have it in case of emergency.

I have cordless phones so I can get a call out in the shop or in the barn...I need to stay in touch with the neighbors since forming our own little 'posse' to keep dirt-bikers and off-roaders off our properties.

Yes, i woudln't be without it now either. Had it put in a couple of months ago because i needed one for my internet connection anyway! Less expensive than a mobile! Handy for calling the 0845 numbers that every company seems to be changing to, what happened to the local calls eh?

I use my cellphone during storms with no problem, same when the power is out.

I do. Never had to charge it and it always 4 bars.

We ditches ours when they finally brought DSL out to my neck of the woods.

This thread reminds me of my grandma dying.

There were serious discussions about whether we had to return the humongous black rotary phone she rented from the phone company for all those years.

I don't remember what we did with it, lol.

Yes! I rarely use my cell phone, mostly for emergencies.

I hate phones.

So one at home is WAY enough.
