the Fed is a semi private central bank that illegally creates fiat currency that has no backing other than the coercive power of government.
The Federal Reserve banks are private corporations owned by the participating banks (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc.).
US citizens are the backing for the debt - with the coercive power of government to ensure you pay up.
