I don't understand why anyone would seek power and glory. Both often come at great cost; and in the end, we are but dust. I prefer to be left alone to do as I see fit, while harming no one.

A good friend told me that her greatest fear was to be ignored; that she would rather be abused than to be unnoticed. I said that I preferred to be the "Gray Man", and saw little value in being seen. The fewer the temptations, the fewer the fears; life on our own terms.

True that "We are fascinated by power," Yeah, when I hear the power lines hum it is impressive.

I agree..although to be honest..i once had a taste of some power and glory personally ... i wont get into that but lets just say i was fortunate enough that someone was looking over me and woke me up and made me realize how selfish, prideful and greedy i really was because of my desires to be on top.. above others. Its kind of ironic because before i gained that power and glory over others around me..i was a pretty quite person, humbled,etc..but soon as got that power, glory and wealth..i became loud, arrogant and very prideful and made sure all others around me knew it..or otherwise they would feel my wrath..i kid you not and this is a prime example of the characteristics of those with power and glory and wealth..they make sure others know of their power and glory and wealth, they make sure others know of their wrath in those that do not abide by their requirements or laws...

I sometimes wonder if those that strive for power and glory are all unbelievers of a higher power..what i mean is it seems that people that hate god or dont believe in god are those that hate a higher authority and want to be the one with the higher authority..because in a way they want to be "God"...and i dont mean God of the world or universe..to just be a "God" over the people around them..it can be as little as that but by just having that power and glory over their surroundings is gratifying to them..like it was for me.

The "truly" powerful people, the real puppetmasters, are NEVER put on those kinds of lists.

i didnt have power but i still behaved like you.now i stay alone and content.it's sad i cant leave city and stay in some place quietly for rest of my life
