You know them when you hear them... also been able to get outside to visually ID a few as they passed overhead. Mostly Black Hawks and a few Chinooks. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1138940Anyone else noticing an increase in these? about two weeks ago I saw like 50 of them flying in V formation to the north. ( towards Ft. Drum from me ) they flew right over downtown Syracuse. kinda shocked me. But then again, we got all kinds of shit flying in and out of here, well you know. 50! thats a lot of big helicopters in the air at one time. I wonder if they are repositioning assets to the inland bases? could be. who knows. this is an interesting area for air traffic, not only do you have the base traffic, but also a major international airport, AND there is an Airforce base here that does all the drones ppl are talking about. They fly drones up and down the St. Lawrence for instance, looking for Canadians sneaking over the border. and wtf they don'd do that down by Mexico is beyond me so don't ask. lol. theres just a TON of military aircraft and and out of CNY all the time, but yeah that was rather odd. I should have posted about it then actually. I had just forgotten till now. I saw it while driving. there could have been more, I have no idea I would say a good 50 tho. huge formation of black helecopters 2-3 weeks ago durring the day. |

WOW....50 helicopters that must have been neat to see. My son is a helicopter pilot in the army. Was stationed at Fort Drum till this past August. Now at Fort Rucker. You have one life. Live it. You don't have to be specific if you don't want to, but I would be curious to know... or will you just stay put? I'm in a rural area outside of Endicott and wondering which direction to go if things got really sketchy...maybe staying put would be the best answer. Cheers Speaking for ourselves and friends, we plan on just staying PUT..especially those of us who have been planning for years (growing our own food, hunting, canning etc.) and for those of us who have family living in major cities, the plan is to just have them come up and bunker down til things settle down, if and when they ever do :( survive by being a hermit |
