Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
This is a piece from the returned Christ MIchael/Jesus given to the 11:11 group.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68986690

there is only 1 christ and it is NOT the craprantia mikey version.----this is lie from satan. And the true chist has NOT returned------this is also lie.

this is Jesus:

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Folks should not be fooled by imposters claiming to be "christ". nor the ignorant shitheads promoting imposters.

matthew 24:23-24 Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'Here,' do not believe it.For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible.

Despite any shortcomings that you may perceive in yourself, you are a wonderful person. You are even "godly". You are even God, but you have not realised it yet. That is the great and exciting revelation to come. And when you love yourself and recognise yourself as divine, then will your recognise the same in others.

Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
This comes from a fascinating chapter in the Urantia Book called GOVERNMENT ON A NEIGHBOURING PLANET. This is a place where the people took matters into their own hands. At a critical stage similar to that of earth today, the inhabitants decided to burn all money, move out of the cities and start again. Here is information on theri educational system:

“The educational system of this nation is compulsory and coeducational in the precollege schools that the student attends from the ages of five to eighteen. These schools are vastly different from those on Urantia (earth). There are no classrooms, only one study is pursued at a time, and after the first three years all pupils become assistant teachers, instructing those below them. Books are used only to secure information that will assist in solving the problems arising in the school shops and on the school farms. (…) Agriculture and horticulture are also taught throughout the entire educational period on the extensive farms adjoining every school. (…) One quarter of the school time is devoted to play (…) The chief object of education on this continent is to make every pupil a self-supporting citizen.”

The fast pace of life in developed countries where many persue careers and making money as their main aim, overloaded with outward stimuli in the form of distractions / entertainment / leisure activities, There is little time to think. As a result SOME PERSONS ARE TOO BUSY TO GROW ... as stated in this quote from the UB chapter "Religion in human experience

“Some persons are too busy to grow and are therefore in grave danger of spiritual fixation. Provision must be made for growth of meanings at different ages, in successive cultures, and in the passing stages of advancing civilisation. The chief inhibitors of growth are prejudice and ignorance. Give every developing child a chance to grow his own religious experience: do not force a ready-made adult experience on him.”

no, those who wander off into the false ideas, myths, and blasphemies of craprantia are the very ones in grave spiritual danger. God's word tells us this.

2 Timothy 3:2-4 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

2 Peter 2:2-3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive opinions. They will even deny the Master who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Even so, many will follow their licentious ways, and because of these teachers[a] the way of truth will be maligned. And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words.

Perhaps try and forget for a moment that this comes from the UB. This is a revolutionary idea - burning all the money. Does that not appeal to you in this age of gross corruption and inequality?

Suppose we look for a practical way in which peace can be found for this earth. Would that not be that everyone loves themselves and others? This has nothing to do with "airs". Suppose we all greet each other with deep respect and understanding instead of screaming "bullshit"? The world would change overnight.

But I agree with you on this hf - the quotes from Timothy and Peter below. I feel from your reactions that you are very concerned for the state of the people on this planet. So am I. These are indeed perilous times and end times and people do generally not want to hear or learn or to engage in discussion or are open to new perspectives. The fact that I read in the Urantia Book does not prevent me from reading in the Bible or anything else in the search for truth. For me, the Bible in incomplete and sometimes erroneous. The Urantia Book is very large but also incomplete and - by its omissions - also erroneous. And so we move ever further on our learning journey.

I agree with you here too that the visible return of Jesus will have an incredible impact on everyone - a huge "change of heart" you might say - and that there will be a 1000 year period. But Jesus himself will surely not be seeing to changing monetary systems or correcting other detrimental systems onehandedly? Everyone will have to contribute and take on responsibility. This requires constantly adhering to certain values and priniples, which Jesus would certainly advocate, but we ourselves must carry it out, otherwise there is the danger of spiralling back into the mess we are now in.

What about this as a guideline for living?

“The hungers of the soul cannot be satisfied with physical pleasures: the love of home and children is not augmented by the unwise pursuit of leisure. Though you exhaust the resources of art, color, sound, rhythm, music and adornment of person, you cannot hope thereby to elevate the soul or nourish the spirit. Vanity and fashion cannot minister to home building and child culture; pride and rivalry are powerless to enhance the survival qualities of succeeding generations.”

Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
According to your thoughts, the only truth is to be found in the 4 papers which were selected out of a total of 50 scripts placed before the Nicea Council in around 300 AD. This is the origin of the Bible.
What about your own experience though. Do you ever get "hunches" or gut reactions or make intuitive decisions one way or the other in your life? Or do you refer to the Bible always in every small decision during the course of your day? Do you make any decisions where you do not consult the Bible beforehand? Do you have confidence in your personal decisions which are unrelated to religious texts or advice? Do you take your own advice? Taking own's own advice would amount - in my eyes - to taking the advice of the divine source within.

Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
I agree again. The ten commandments are indeed good guidelines, though could be further expanded (ie honouring father and mother could be expanded to HONOUR EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING). We certainly need moral standards and certain qualities which we should strive to demonstrate, as Jesus himself did. These qualities are many, as described here:

(1101.5) 100:7.1 Although the average mortal of Urantia cannot hope to attain the high perfection of character which Jesus of Nazareth acquired while sojourning in the flesh, it is altogether possible for every mortal believer to develop a strong and unified personality along the perfected lines of the Jesus personality. The unique feature of the Master’s personality was not so much its perfection as its symmetry, its exquisite and balanced unification. The most effective presentation of Jesus consists in following the example of the one who said, as he gestured toward the Master standing before his accusers, “Behold the man!”

(1101.6) 100:7.2 The unfailing kindness of Jesus touched the hearts of men, but his stalwart strength of character amazed his followers. He was truly sincere; there was nothing of the hypocrite in him. He was free from affectation; he was always so refreshingly genuine. He never stooped to pretence, and he never resorted to shamming. He lived the truth, even as he taught it. He was the truth. He was constrained to proclaim saving truth to his generation, even though such sincerity sometimes caused pain. He was unquestioningly loyal to all truth.

(1101.7) 100:7.3 But the Master was so reasonable, so approachable. He was so practical in all his ministry, while all his plans were characterized by such sanctified common sense. He was so free from all freakish, erratic, and eccentric tendencies. He was never capricious, whimsical, or hysterical. In all his teaching and in everything he did there was always an exquisite discrimination associated with an extraordinary sense of propriety.

(1102.1) 100:7.4 The Son of Man was always a well-poised personality. Even his enemies maintained a wholesome respect for him; they even feared his presence. Jesus was unafraid. He was surcharged with divine enthusiasm, but he never became fanatical. He was emotionally active but never flighty. He was imaginative but always practical. He frankly faced the realities of life, but he was never dull or prosaic. He was courageous but never reckless; prudent but never cowardly. He was sympathetic but not sentimental; unique but not eccentric. He was pious but not sanctimonious. And he was so well-poised because he was so perfectly unified.

(1102.2) 100:7.5 Jesus’ originality was unstifled. He was not bound by tradition or handicapped by enslavement to narrow conventionality. He spoke with undoubted confidence and taught with absolute authority. But his superb originality did not cause him to overlook the gems of truth in the teachings of his predecessors and contemporaries. And the most original of his teachings was the emphasis of love and mercy in the place of fear and sacrifice.

(1102.3) 100:7.6 Jesus was very broad in his outlook. He exhorted his followers to preach the gospel to all peoples. He was free from all narrow-mindedness. His sympathetic heart embraced all mankind, even a universe. Always his invitation was,” Whosoever will, let him come.”

(1102.4) 100:7.7 Of Jesus it was truly said, “He trusted God.” As a man among men he most sublimely trusted the Father in heaven. He trusted his Father as a little child trusts his earthly parent. His faith was perfect but never presumptuous. No matter how cruel nature might appear to be or how indifferent to man’s welfare on earth, Jesus never faltered in his faith. He was immune to disappointment and impervious to persecution. He was untouched by apparent failure.
(1102.5) 100:7.8 He loved men as brothers, at the same time recognizing how they differed in innate endowments and acquired qualities. “He went about doing good.”

(1102.6) 100:7.9 Jesus was an unusually cheerful person, but he was not a blind and unreasoning optimist. His constant word of exhortation was,“Be of good cheer.” He could maintain this confident attitude because of his unswerving trust in God and his unshakable confidence in man. He was always touchingly considerate of all men because he loved them and believed in them. Still he was always true to his convictions and magnificently firm in his devotion to the doing of his Father’s will.

(1102.7) 100:7.10 The Master was always generous. He never grew weary of saying, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Said he,“Freely you have received, freely give.” And yet, with all of his unbounded generosity, he was never wasteful or extravagant. He taught that you must believe to receive salvation. “For every one who seeks shall receive.”

(1102.8) 100:7.11 He was candid, but always kind. Said he, “If it were not so, I would have told you.” He was frank, but always friendly. He was outspoken in his love for the sinner and in his hatred for sin. But throughout all this amazing frankness he was unerringly fair.

(1102.9) 100:7.12 Jesus was consistently cheerful, notwithstanding he sometimes drank deeply of the cup of human sorrow. He fearlessly faced the realities of existence, yet was he filled with enthusiasm for the gospel of the kingdom. But he controlled his enthusiasm; it never controlled him. He was unreservedly dedicated to “the Father’s business.” This divine enthusiasm led his unspiritual brethren to think he was beside himself, but the onlooking universe appraised him as the model of sanity and the pattern of supreme mortal devotion to the high standards of spiritual living. And his controlled enthusiasm was contagious; his associates were constrained to share his divine optimism.

(1103.1) 100:7.13 This man of Galilee was not a man of sorrows; he was a soul of gladness. Always was he saying, “Rejoice and be exceedingly glad.” But when duty required, he was willing to walk courageously through the “valley of the shadow of death.” He was gladsome but at the same time humble.

(1103.2) 100:7.14 His courage was equalled only by his patience. When pressed to act prematurely, he would only reply, “My hour has not yet come.” He was never in a hurry; his composure was sublime. But he was often indignant at evil, intolerant of sin. He was often mightily moved to resist that which was inimical to the welfare of his children on earth. But his indignation against sin never led to anger at the sinner.

(1103.3) 100:7.15 His courage was magnificent, but he was never foolhardy. His watchword was, “Fear not.” His bravery was lofty and his courage often heroic. But his courage was linked with discretion and controlled by reason. It was courage born of faith, not the recklessness of blind presumption. He was truly brave but never audacious.

(1103.4) 100:7.16 The Master was a pattern of reverence. The prayer of even his youth began, “Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.” He was even respectful of the faulty worship of his fellows. But this did not deter him from making attacks on religious traditions or assaulting errors of human belief. He was reverential of true holiness, and yet he could justly appeal to his fellows, saying, “Who among you convicts me of sin?”

(1103.5) 100:7.17 Jesus was great because he was good, and yet he fraternized with the little children. He was gentle and unassuming in his personal life, and yet he was the perfected man of a universe. His associates called him Master unbidden. (1103.6) 100:7.18 Jesus was the perfectly unified human personality. And today, as in Galilee, he continues to unify mortal experience and to co-ordinate human endeavours. He unifies life, ennobles character, and simplifies experience. He enters the human mind to elevate, transform, and transfigure it. It is literally true: “If any man has Christ Jesus within him, he is a new creature; old things are passing away; behold, all things are becoming new.”(1103.7) 100:7.19

Vanity and fashion cannot minister to home building and child culture; pride and rivalry are powerless to enhance the survival qualities of succeeding generations.”

the Ten commandments along with other pearls of wisdom from God's word tells us how we should be living. and who better to tell us how we should be living then the very one who created us?

craprantia is channeled junk that was not given by God. it is not from nor of God at all.

Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
Let me phrase this in a more positive way: I do find some great truths in the Bible, I do find great truths through the contemplation of nature, I do find great truths through meditation, I do find great truths through relationships with others, I do find great truths by digging below the surface and by reading a great variety of diverse materials and sources, and I do also find great truths in the Urantia Book.

And so we move ever further on our learning journey.

then that is strictly a YOU problem. the bible is not incomplete nor erroneous----those are the same lies pushed by craprantists over and over.

Truth is found in God's word the bible, there is no truth in craprantia/faunix journals....it denies Jesus as the only begotten son of God amongst other things....which demonstrates that it is nothing but false, new-age junk.

when you promote that garbage, know that you are promoting something that God calls an abomination.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD

The Urantia book may be one of Satan's greatest masterpieces of deception. It is so seductive because it cleverly plays on many human emotions.

Satan understands the intense curiosity that humans posses and he plays to it by spinning elaborate fairy tales of other universes, inhabited planets, hierarchies of spiritual beings, etc. in the Urantia book. Most of the Urantia book flies in the face of God's statement to us in Deuteronomy 29:29, which says, "The secret [things belong] unto the LORD our God: but those [things which are] revealed [belong] unto us and to our children for ever, that [we] may do all the words of this law".

This book is especially seductive to people who are already predisposed to believing in UFO's and extraterrestrials. People who believe in any of the various Christian compromises with evolution are also more vulnerable to being deceived by it. This massive 2,097 page book is so rich in information and details that it would take years to try to understand it all. That's part of what keeps its supporters coming back year after year to learn more.

Satan plays on our fears in the Urantia book by soothing us with lying reassurances that Hell does not exist, and by focusing on God's love and mercy while distracting us away from God's judgment and wrath against those who do not accept Jesus as their savior.

He plays to our pride and or desire for power by telling us that those who study the Urantia book are more highly evolved and enlightened than those who believe in that allegedly outdated book, the Bible.

He exploits our desire to trust by false reassurances that these extra-Biblical revelations compliment the Bible.

He plays to our desire to be loved by mixing in messages of love with the poison that will ultimately lead to a spiritual death in Hell.

Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
So when in your life did you start reading the Bible? Did you read anything before? Were you in "hell" before reading it? Will you ever read anything else? Why do you involve yourself in this thread? According to your theory of hell, surely the act of reading quotes from the Urantia book in order to evaluate them and to reply with quotes from the Bible will send you to that supposed hellish place. But you are still here ...

Re: Discovering the Urantia Book
Mount Assembly - The Faithfuls of Days

The one hundred System Sovereigns come periodically to the Edentia conclaves which deliberate on the welfare of the constellation. After the Satania rebellion the archrebels of Jerusem were wont to come up to these Edentia councils just as they had on former occasions. And there was found no way to stop this arrogant effrontery until after the bestowal of Michael on Urantia and his subsequent assumption of unlimited sovereignty throughout all Nebadon. Never, since that day, have these instigators of sin been permitted to sit in the Edentia councils of the loyal System Sovereigns.

That the teachers of olden times knew of these things is shown by the record: "And there was a day when the Sons of God came to present themselves before the Most Highs, and Satan came also and presented himself among them." And this is a statement of fact regardless of the connection in which it chances to appear.

Since the triumph of Christ, all Norlatiadek is being cleansed of sin and rebels. Sometime before Michael's death in the flesh the fallen Lucifer's associate, Satan, sought to attend such an Edentia conclave, but the solidification of sentiment against the archrebels had reached the point where the doors of sympathy were so well-nigh universally closed that there could be found no standing ground for the Satania adversaries. When there exists no open door for the reception of evil, there exists no opportunity for the entertainment of sin. The doors of the hearts of all Edentia closed against Satan; he was unanimously rejected by the assembled System Sovereigns, and it was at this time that the Son of Man "beheld Satan fall as lightning from heaven." ~ The Urantia Book, (43:4.7)

By what authority then should any believe this ? Most Christians don't live their own creed and proceed to break the first commandment by praying to a God.

(From THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM, GOVERNMENT ON A NEIGHBOURING PLANET, Paper 72).

Where in the UB does it speak of this civilization burning there money? Curious...
