Animals don't have a choice, we do. And what we do is much crueler than what other animals to to other animals.

And you do realize, that 1/3 of animals put into shelters get put down.. Any pitbulls caught in a dog fighting ring get euthanized along with every rooster caught fighting as well.

Any way you look at it, they die. We all die. If we were meant to not eat meat, it wouldn't taste good. If we were meant to eat tofu, it WOULD taste good.

Sorry OP. I don't torture anything, I kill humanely, and I don't waste what I harvest. Wool shouldn't be listed here as it's non lethal to the sheep. Leather is a byproduct of steaks and burgers, and well, I'll agree with you on furs with this day and age. If it's harvested only for the fur, I'm willing to let it live.

With all those high tech fabrics out there do more damage to the environment then a seal clubber can. With the factory run off and other harmful bi-products entering the ecosystem i prefer natural made stuff.

Peta is the most corrupt animal welfare group out there next to the Humane society where all money is collected goes to pay the big suits and Ingrids' drug habit. None of the money goes to your local shelters even the HSA keeps every last dime to fund the office workers.

I put out fresh bird seed this morning for my little feathered friends. Just as I was going into the house a hawk swooped in and killed three of them . As I sat eating my Bacon and Eggs, I smiled thinking we are all well fed this day.

How would you guys feel if an alien species more intelligent and technologically superior came to Earth and deiced to use us for food.

I am also a trapper. It is essential to survival where I live. Animal fur is environmentally clean and sustainable. Without it we would have to resort to man made fibers from chemical factories, which cause massive pollution, and consume lots of energy. Fur and wool are very "green" products by comparison to any alternatives. I use every part of the animals I kill, and am careful to kill quickly and as humanely as possible. All the hunters and trappers I know are humane and thoughtful people who fully understand that life feeds on itself. I have some family who are militant vegetarians, who have occasioned to leave their artificial cities and come visit me and spent all their time on their holier than thou attitude. In the end, I simply put furs on every bed and on the floors for rugs. Now they do not bother me any more.

While I don't like the concept of furs it is only personal distaste. Mainly because synthetic fur is good enough and the cruelty involved isn't worth it.

Leather to me is fine. You can't make a synthetic copy of it and the cows were only raised to be killed for food anyway. I can't count the number of vegetarians who rode horses and still had leather tack!
