I don't bother schooling anyone. I don't care if they spend their time that way.

I use GLP to communicate with all MY friends.

what sickens me is all the commercials that cross advertise facebook and even twitter and other shit..

it's like "it's here now, use it! just.. just fuckin use it alright!"

I hate Facebook.. my husband is on. I hate when he puts our business in the street.

I say, if you want to know how we're doing and what we're up to, pick up the phone.

I do not use Facebook/Twitter/Myspace and I also do not tell others what to do. Who are you to tell someone not to do something? If someone wants to be data mined let them.

So many issues. I don't use facebook my mother on the other hand has a facebook account.

I wouldn't bother trying to stop her that is the way she keeps in touch with family and friends.

I keep in touch through txts IM and mmorpgs. Then I get to hear it from my father who thinks all video games are bloody massacres (yay news...) and he can't understand that I use them as a way to talk to friends. Id rather hang out with a bunch of crazy people in a game then at a bar!

I have a Facebook only because my job requires it. I work with a student ministry that communicates ONLY through FB, because of course most middle school/high school kids are obsessed with FB.
However, all of my fellow college interns at my job are FB obsessed as well. So I've figured out what kinds of relationships these people are serious about because of FB.
I prefer a face-to-face relationship with occasional phone communication. People that don't want to talk face to face and would rather "talk" through FB are obviously people with whom I don't share goals or interests or beliefs with, and I'm fine with that. The few face-to-face relationships I do have are made more meaningful as a result.

Ive always gotten shit for telling people why I don't use Facebook. They get really offended.

I feel somewhat out of the loop, but its mostly about unimportant events that do not concern me. If it was important, someone would find out and relay the info Im sure.

It still pisses me off that people pay 80-100 dollars a month for their fancy ass "dumb" phones, and all they use the thing for is Facebook while at work.

i don't even have a damn cell phone, let alone a "smart" phone, gotta love those ghz pulses tingling your frontal lobes, feels great

I still write out and send Thank You notes in the mail...

I have a facebook account however I have cleared all information from it (Yes I know they don't delete it, but they won't have any more new info neither).

Just think like this, they have your photos, your name, your email address, your DoB, your location, know what you are doing depending how much you 'Post'. They have your IP Address, your phone number, they know your family, friends, your most used password (Most people only have one password) they know a shitload. One disgruntled employee could probably steal / leak your life to the world. Also have a look at facebook places, now they broadcast your location, whoop de fucking do.

Just think about that for a minute, cus that scares me, it really it does.

If you want a facebook account, create a gmail account for registration, use a Pseudo name, and use a "password thats for Facebook only". Dont upload photos of yourself or others, basically use it what you want it for, communication, but remeber they still know everything you communicate, and who to, plus your friends.

If you want to communicate, do it the old fashioned way...

It's Twitter with pictures..

I don't have enough time for my wife and kids and the few friends that I have had for many, many years. Was on it for a couple weeks and just mostly got aggravated and even pissed off a couple of times and decided just wasn't worth it. It is cool to see or hear about someone you haven't even thought about for many years but when all is said and done there is a reason you haven't thought about them for many years.

No more facebook for me.

No Facebook here either... and yeah I get heat for it as well. I did mess with myspace for a few months but I found it to be very addictive and monumentally aggravating at the same time so I shut it down and resumed my stance of "this crap is not for me :)"

I feel that all of this half-assed socializing behind a mask is having a negative impact. I can think of more than a few of my younger family members/associates that are borderline social retards and I think this tech minded communication is at least partially to blame. I hear countless tales of drama stemming from FB. People air their dirty laundry (for the world to see) in the most unrefined ways. *sigh* NOT A FAN.

Email was invented to keep in touch with friends and family.
I will never use facebook.

I just send them every news report I find about people being stalked, spied on, and what the alphabet agencuies use it for...

Left FB as it's become the default method of communicating or contacting people, and I can't stand that.

If you're that paranoid you could make an account with a pseudonym and don't use an actual picture of yourself...

And, I graduated HS in '93, if you haven't heard from me by now, you're not going to.

That's what I do and only for campaigns, so I don't have any friends as nobody knows who I am.

An old friend posted photos he wanted me to see, so I created an acct to see them and what everyone was thrilled about. I didn't like the noisy nature of it. Within 24 hours I had a dozen invites from schoolmates I didn't like back then, why would I care what they're doing now? Cancelled acct and I've never looked back. Boring! I guess its fine for voyeurs, drama queens, and narcicists, but whatever.

i deactivated my facebook account a week ago.
mostly used it to try to wake people up but no one ever responded or indicated that they gave a shit. so i gave up.
i'm just that insane dude now anyways. i'm happy with the two friends i have. the more friends you have, the worse a friend you are. never understood people adding anyone and everyone to their friends list just so they could claim hundreds of friends. that's not a friend's list. that's an acquaintance list. whatever makes people feel better i guess...
