Some of the protestors were only 14, they were kept bottled in by, "You ain't hard enough" until 10.30 pm. Soon we'll see who's hard enough...

Demonstrations: a guide to exercising your rights..

* Take earplugs. Non and Less-lethal weapons include the LRAD. If you don't believe me, look here (forward to 8m00s) and see the effect it has; LRAD can damage hearing at 300m: [link to www.youtube.com] - forward to 8m00s.
* Be prepared for police intimidation tactics, like marching whilst banging on shields.
* Take a gas mask if you have one, if not take eye protection (goggles) and at least something to cover your nose/mouth. You may well be gassed. Bandanas soaked in vinegar can help.

* Take video cameras. Ask anyone being arrested to shout their name.
* Someone take a loudhaler. It can be useful to put YOUR soundtrack to any video footage!
o Ask the police to disobey orders.
o Constantly remind the press and police this is a noviolent and lawful, peaceful demonstration.
o Remind the police and press why you would like to walk peacefully down the street
* Consider your tactics before things get heavy. The police sure will have!
o Paint (spraycans?) and flourpaste or eggs make great additions to riot helmet visors!
o Can you sit down in the face of a police charge (even horses?)?
o Stop police 'snatch squads' with banners containing wooden poles held by everyone. Keep the banners at near-shoulder height.
o Laser pointers can also possibly be used to disorientate. BE CAREFUL not to blind!
o Do you want to be identified? If so, ok. If not, the only real way is to wear a balaclava. Bandanas will be ripped off. Makes you look like an anarchist tho. Plus 'clavas don't go too well with gas masks!
* It goes without saying that the police will 'kettle' you. Be prepared. Dress accordingly. Go to the toilet Before demonstrating. You will be kept for a long time.
* It also goes without saying: DO NOT have any *ANY* identification on you. At the very least this will slow the police down. They WILL attempt to identify everyone they let out of the kettle.
* Borrow ideas from the Bangkok redshirts: donate blood and throw it at govt buildings/cars etc?

* If you have to be, be inventive- it will get you arrested if you are found with weapons, but 1100 litre rubbish bins contain glass bottles. Cars contain fuel. All you need is hosepipe and a rag. The bins could make good battering rams themselves.

Did anybody see the police fleeing for their lives and have any charges been brought on those terrorising the police?
Or was the van just abandoned so that it would make good visual news and to make the students look bad?
