Question for fellow alcohol enthusiasts.
I'm 21 and enjoy a few drinks once in awhile, but whenever I drink alcohol of any kind, I get severe stomach pain within a few minutes and I'd like to stress that this is only after one drink, usually on a full stomach.

Any ideas as to what's causing this, or what I can do about it so I can enjoy myself instead of rolling around in bed for an hour before I even get buzzed?

Thanks!

cheers

Doc may find stomach ulcers. Don't fear, they are treatable.
Fishing and skiing keeps me a little sane.

Not everyone can stand the hard stuff. I drink beer and thats about it. Maybe a gin and tonic that I can make last a while. Just depends on how your system is.

Well, I use to drink whatever I wanted with no problems. It just seems like recently it's been causing this stomach pain, almost like indigestion or acid stomach. And I'm not drinking all the time or anything like that, if I was, I'd understand, but I drink maybe once every week with some friends, if that.

I'm was the same. Used to drink about anything and then got to where it was making me sick all the time. I just figured it was my body telling me to not use the stuff. Science wise it's probably some kinda bacteria I'd guess. Just to easy to adjust than to push the issue imho.

I used to get the same feeling but it would be from drinking alot of bourbon and coke, I found it to be the coke mixer and by having a few beers it would go away.

Try and drink beer instead of spirits for a while.

Could be the soda. I really don't drink much soda, and when I do drink it by itself, I drink it pretty slowly. Maybe I'm drinking too much acidic stuff too fast.

Ditch the soda. Ditch the sweet crap like Southern Comfort.

Try Old Overholt Rye over ice.

I don't know man that doesn't seem normal though, maybe its aggravating something else that is going on down there... ulcer, cancer ect... I mean I would pay attention to it with other stuff you eat, and what comes out... make sure theres nothing abnormal like blood in your shiz.

Im probly wrong but just pay attention to your body.

I'm trying the Southern Comfort straight and chasing with Kool-Aid. So far so good. I think it might have been the soda.

Sounds like exactly the same thing that happens to me. I'll definitely be getting checked out.

But, at least I'm good with the SoCo and Kool-Aid!

Re: Question for fellow alcohol enthusiasts.
Yeah, it does sound very similar. It would almost feel like I had to take a #2, but I couldn't. All I could do is squirm around and hope the pain passed or take a hot shower to help cope. I also had severe pain in my back in the area of my right shoulder blade. The pain went on for years without diagnosis and was so severe I even considered suicide. A lady I work with said she had a home birth and gallbladder pain was WORSE than that. I am a huge chicken, but the surgery to have it removed was less painful than the pain itself and you get cool scars to show off.

It almost feels like gas pain, when you have to fart, but you can't and it builds up in there. It's the worst pain that I can imagine and it feels exactly the same. I should get my gallbladder checked. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
