Help the kitties and puppies.

I wish I had a heart for animals. However, I do not. I care much more about humans than animals. In fact, terrible ideas about what to do with the massive kitteh and puppeh population that I will not share. But it could really help the starving children of the world...

I'm the opposite.

I like animals far more than humans.

There are many, many theories.

One says if you feed the poor and make them healthy - they will multiply. Then you've many more people who can't feed themselves. So, you feed them.

Then you've millions and millions of starving humans.

I guess tis the season. Even though I don't celebrate it traditionally.

My parents always took huge bags of animals food to our local shelter every December. So, I try to help when I am able.

I've thought about volunteering again - but I always want to take all of them home.

In the town where I live there is a place that takes cats in and spays or neuters them and puts them up for adoption. It is in addition to the animal shelter. The store is part thrift shop and part shelter. Anyway they were accepting donations of food, litter, etc. and also had a barrel set up for the local food bank. Thought that was nice.

Heck. You don't even have to buy anything. Just sort thru old sheets and rugs and rags. They go thru lots of stuff like that at shelters.

Yes, but remember to give it to your local animal shelter and not the Humane Society. That way the animals actually receive help.

Very good idea Enaid. Visit your local shelter and see what they need.. usually it's everything. They get very little community support and there are some very nice people working there, often for little or no pay, who just want to see the animals adopted to good families.

Animal rescue groups always appreciate help, especially these days when their charitable donations are down due to the economy.

Do a search online for your area and find a rescue group. Many have websites. Some of them are breed specific; most help all animals. Some have kennels, some place animals in volunteer foster homes until they can be adopted.

Shelter or resuce group---all need your help.

That's one of the most ignorant statements I've heard in a while. You are one of those people who chain a dog to a tree in the back yard and feed it once a day and never build a friendship with it.

ONCE I WAS IN A GOOD WILL STORE I NOTICED A YOUNG BOY ABOUT 7 OR 8 YEARS OLD, BEING NEGLECTED BY HIS PARENT. HE WAS SO POLITE AND KIND. I WAS LOOKING AT THE ITEMS IN THE GLASS CASE THERE WAS TOYS AND SOME JEWELRY ITEMS. THE BOY ASKED TO LOOK AT THE MONOPOLY MONEY A WOMAN WHO WORKED THERE HANDED IT TO HIM. NOW THIS KID WAS POOR HIS CLOTHES AND APPEARANCE SHOWED IT. BUT HE WAS SO POLITE AND GRATEFUL TO JUST BE ALLOWED TO HOLD SOME OF THE TOYS THAT WERE IN THE CASE , I WAS MOVED BY THIS. I SHOULD MENTION THIS WAS CHRISTMAS EVE ,I SAID TO THE BOY WHAT IS THE BEST TOY IN THE SHOWCASE. HE LOOKED WITH WONDER AT THE FEW SECOND HAND TOYS AND SPOKE LOUDLY WITH SUCH ENTHUSIASM ,THE JEEP HE SAID LOUDLY THE JEEP IS SOOOO COOL. I AGREED WITH HIM. THE JEEP WAS A REMOTE CONTROL TOY JEEP STILL IN A BOX UNOPENED. ABOUT THIS TIME HIS PARENT WAS CALLING TO HIM TO LEAVE THE STORE AS THEY WERE CASHING OUT.....I SAID TO THE WOMAN WORKING BEHIND THE GLASS CASE HOW MUCH IS IT SHE SAID $30 . I BOUGHT IT AND WENT OUTSIDE TO FIND THE BOY HIS PARENT WAS ABOUT 100 FEET AHEAD WALKING AT A FAST PACE AND THE BOY WAS LOOKING IN THE WINDOWS OF THE STORES NEXT TO THE GOOD WILL I SAID TO HIM WHAT IS YOUR NAME HE SAID RICHIE I SAID MERRY CHRISTMAS RICHIE AND HANDED IT TO HIM HE SHOUTED OOOH WOW ..REALLY SHOUTED AND WENT RUNNING TO CATCH UP WITH HIS PARENT. ANYWAY SORRY SO LONG BUT WANTED TO SHARE MY STORY ...TO GIVE IS A WONDERFUL TREASURE. I DO IT OFTEN.
