Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1142115*hunh* i reckon it worked just fine. my grandmother used to tell this story, where a woman from the neighborhood one day started to weep standing in line at the bakery; apparently her son had written her a "feldpost" letter from the front begging her to please send him some bread because, he wrote, "we are starving here". somebody among the customers must have been a member of the equivalent of you "see sth, hear sth" campaign - because the next day she was picked up the by the "schutzstaffel" (special police force) and tried and found guilty of "wehrkraftzersetzung" (roughly 'undermining the fighting spirit of the common man'), a crime which was punishable by death at the time. after the war, i believe this particular crime was dropped from the criminal code here in germany ;) but i keep hearing some of your senators really want to reactivate it for use on mr. assange, eh? don't let them get away with this kind of thinking! been there, done that - hic sunt leones. |

My question is, were the people the same. Whispering in shock of what they were witnessing as the shit hit the stazi fan? The incremental ratcheting to total tyranny. Because, that is what is going on here and every day the ratchet is turned another notch. Every damn day now, they release another abuse of power movement until the public doesn't know which direction is up because they are buried by tyranny's excrement. Every damn day now, they release another abuse of power movement until the public doesn't know which direction is up because they are buried by tyranny's excrement. i'm post-post-post war generation, so i don't have first-hand experience, but i believe the situation in the 1920 in germany leading to the rise of the NSDAP (adolf's party) was a bit different from today. germany was suffering from a very high unemployment rate, suffocating repair payments to the victors of WW I, and, in general, joe average had to eat a lot of shit with little hope of change. enter center stage : that mad little austrian fuck and his propaganda mastermind goebbels, singing a song of german superiority and blaming everything on the jews. yay adolf! you tell em! so: no, there was no 'gradual' tightening of the screws, because almost everybody welcomed him and saw him as some kind of saviour - so he could establish his power base almost over night; he had the whole country by the balls in little more than a year, still surfing the wave of political popstar-ism. by the time TSHTF (invasion of poland, kristallnacht, other bad stuff) the regime already had a VERY firm grip on the reins. the only 'incremental' development was the number of people who woke up from the spell, realized what had happened, but were utterly powerless by then to do anything about it, what with the gestapo (secret police force), ss, and everyone being under martial law. the average guy was in a state of shock, like a pig seeing the butcher when the ramp of the transporter comes down...helpless. but there's another answer to your question: My question is, were the people the same. Whispering in shock of what they were witnessing as the shit hit the stazi fan? Quoting: ExhaleAeonVoltsThe incremental ratcheting to total tyranny. Because, that is what is going on here and every day the ratchet is turned another notch. they ARE the same. WE are. because that's what's happening right here right now, in europe: powerhungry fucks giving a damn about the people who elected them, passing laws like they want, openly acting against the voter's will, lining their own pockets and trying to establish a form of "democracy" which has nothing to do with the original concept. i, for one, am in shock ATM. we MUST do sth, but what? i dunno.... hopefully it'll all play out a bit better for us, because we have the power of the internets ;) and are better organized ? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1188519 United States 12/08/2010 12:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After the head of Homeland Gestapo Janet whats her name told me to report anything suspicious to my Walmart manager I decided to do just that. I half way expected to be arrested and was somewhat saddened when I was not arrested. I asked to see the manager and he appeared in a few minutes. I told him it was highly suspicious that everyone in the country is worried about "terrorism" and yet our borders are wide open. For example, I told him, our airports have become death ray and molestation centers and yet any "terrorist" can simply carry a shoulder held ground to air missile over the border and quickly and simply bring down a plane at the Phoenix airport. His reaction was wonderful. He AGREEED with me. IMO do it. You will feel good. I am going back in a month or two. |

This campaign is the SS! I work with the elderly and I have been talking to a 90 yr old vet that was in WWII and in Korea. Even he says America has never been what it is now. They say this is to combat terrorism but how many times have we seen them catch some terrorists? Once or twice a year you hear about a capture on the MSM. I would think that would be possible without turning neighbor against neighbor. I don't know about everyone else but I personally have seen how society has changed and 80% of the population or more would sell you out for next to nothing. Don't like your boss, call him in. Don't like that neighbor, call him in. See someone throw a cigarette butt out the window, call them in (this has happened to me). Teenager pissed off at his family, call them in. You see where this is going? HEIL! |

We will win this war. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1188521No we will lose this war unless we KNOW who the enemy is. The enemy is clearly those who committed 9/11. Let US have an open honest citizens investigation of 9/11. One thing we will find is Dickless Cheney was conducting a "Terrorism Drill" on 9/11 which posited a plane crashing into the pentagon. To perform this "drill" Dickless had to drop the MANY defense systems that protect the pentagon 24x7x365. Your neighbor is not trying to kill you, it is the people who have captured our government. |
