Mince Pie For Christmas !
Not one in a hundred enjoy this delicacy

Those of us who do are known to be highly intelligent, creative and overall, fine physical specimens

My guess is that you are NOT amongst the few

But if by some small chance you are one of the elect please confirm

Those of you who poses lesser taste buds please do not comment as it will only clutter this thread with your mindless prattle

I found it utterly disgusting. I'll never try mince meat pie again.

Re: Mince Pie For Christmas !
My dad used to make mince meat pies for the holidays, and I hought they were way too over spiced. He used the pre-made filling from a jar. Then I tried a home made pie, one of the small ones. Yummy!!
I would love to try some of the original types. The ones where they used real meat. Those now a days only use beef tallow for some flavor. I really should google a recipe using venison. We love venison pot roast using cranberries and various spices, so this shouldn't be too different???

Re: Mince Pie For Christmas !
I love them, but the prepared filling is now almost $9.00 a jar. WAY over my budget. I also really like the "Prize Cookies" on the dried filling box...but it's almost $4.00 a box now. I don't remember what I paid last Christmas, but I know it wasn't near $4.00. The ingredients for homemade filling are just as outrageous. I expect "mincemeat" to disappear from store shelves within a couple of years...too expensive. I'm old enough to have seen it happen before.
