Joshua Flynn User ID: 1207778 United Kingdom 12/26/2010 05:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Found these images on a hometown forum. They are from 1963. Are they nuke silos? Quoting: CorporalCleggCareful analysis of the second photo you supply reveals something that appears to be windows and doors, which indicate the three structures - are buildings. Secondary analysis of the same photo IDs civilian cars on the semi-circle in the middle, classifying it as a non-military zone, and ergo, a non-military building. If you were looking for a N-Silo, you'd probably want to look for square concrete coupled with a round, openable launch door. It would be surrounded, typically, by perimeter fencing and other clearly military installations. Few N-Silo's are low profile as they are too hard to hide and are used to draw tactical nukes from civilian installations. |
