Do you have any electric heaters? Can you get some? They aren't much at any hardware store...

Get your ass out there and turn it back ON. It is winter and there is a law in my state anyway,that they can NOT disconnect in the Winter time...as to the do it yourself thing, Personally I can not tell you that is a great idea, but for myself, I would seriously consider it if I could not resolve the issue immediately. You cannot steal unless it is a life or death situation, and there is no other remedy to the situation other than to steal to live. When I say " Steal" I am only stating what they would say when they try to call the cops. Going to court and proving that is entirely a different ball game. I don't think it is stealing, but thats me. I got stranded on a mountain in winter five years ago and had to kick in a door to a house and call 911, the cops called the owner and he tried to get me for Burglary, I went to court and his case got tossed due to life or limb law. Self preservation takes precedence. I would have been looking at the bill prior to the abrupt shut off though. Good luck, and if you need some free fire wood,,call me I got plenty.

Thereis a form you need to fill out if youare low income, and then they willnot turn off the heat, or theywill pro-rate it. Go to Welfare, ask for (and make shure they give you the forms) the appropriate forms. Fill out the forms right then and there and hand it in. Get a letter, first, that youwere laid off from your job, an lots of other info, such as your heating, water etc. bills and ID. Be firm about your next appointment, but donot get exactly nasty if they try to turn you down before you get your
first APPOINTMENT

I found the physical in-line from the main out at the back road, they put a lock on the valve.

I can not find anything information about not being able to turn service off when it is for heat. Going to call the agency now that can point me in the right direction for that.

Well that was a waste. They directed me to the agency that is for help in matters like this, but they are out of funds.

they silently repealed such law here in Pa back in 2006.

its against the law to turn off someones heat during the winter, where do you live? you can call the police.

Go through your house and collect all the clutter that you have no use for.

Put in all on Ebay.

You must have friends or family that can tide you over until you get the money from the above.

Above all, get the fuck off GLP and do something more constructive.

They don't owe you gas...it's not illegal here in IN or KY...

Then burn what doesn't sell...get a metal 55 gal drum and make a stove out of it...

Could not get an answer from a state agency, so I called a lawyer just to find out ------ it is not illegal in this state for the gas to be turned off during inclement weather due to non-payment.

To the question of cold , it's 11am and only 33*F. Yes, it gets bitterly cold in northern Arizona. Later on this week the low will be 10*F with highs around 25*f

I have nothing to sell (except a couple cheap PC's that aren't worth anything in todays market), and if I did, I could not send it to them (back to "I'de pay the gas bill")

Sorry about yer situation. Did ya call the gas company to see exactly what you have to do to turn the gas back on?
I dunno how it works in AZ but a friend of mine here in Pa had his electric(he has electric heat) turned off last winter.
He got on the phone with PPL and they turned his power back on with the promise he'd pay a given amount in a week.
See if ya can negotiate with your gas company.

How much is the bill?

Where you live is irrelevant. You have internet connection which means you can make some money. Stop focusing on what you can't do and get working on what you can do.

Go look at the weird section of Ebay and see what people are selling and then come back here and tell me you've nothing to sell.

Have a look at fiverr.com and offer your servces there. And Craigslist.

I did, they said they could not until the past-due plus a now reconnect fee is payed. I can do that Friday, but it's cold now.

I am going to call now, again, anyway. Going to ask for a supervisor, and explain that we did not get a cutoff notice, that our last bill says Jan03 for due date, that we have no heat, etc.
