Ok, so we deposit our check or direct deposit into our bank account as lawful money. I got that part.
But how do we spend it without it converting back into FRNs?
Or is that an issue at all?

Regarding direct deposit, you can amend the bank signature card with 'Demand is hereby made that all transactions on this account be redeemed in lawful money pursuant to 12 USC §411.' or 'All Transactions to this account are intended for Special Deposit'.

The problem is, banks have gotten wise to this, and every attempt is met with a call to the legal dept. which then informs the manager that "no special restrictions are allowed" and/or "no modifications to the signature card is allowed".

I've been fighting this, and 5 banks later, there is no joy. I believe somewhere in this thread, someone mentioned that Bank Of America's legal dept. is aware of, and will allow this... NOT TRUE!

Anyone have other suggestions for how to accomplish this?
Thanks.

I asked them if they can show me the statute in the U.S.C. where it says restriction? It's a remedy, in civil contract law there has to be a remedy. It would be fraud if you don't disclose how the money is created. That would make it null and void.

I am in total agreement with you. The problem is, we are dealing with zombie employees, who fear for their jobs, and will only do what "legal" tells them is okay to do.
I have read other posts from people saying it was no problem. I'm trying to suss out whether it is better to tell them right at the start what your intentions are, or go through the entire song and dance of filling out the application form, and writing in the (non)endorsement verbiage along with signature... then getting the objections of the manager through the legal dept...???
David Merrill has suggested that striking through the "offending" verbiage, but still having it visible would be enough evidence to show that attempt was made to redeem lawful money... What does the brain trust think about this?
