I just took in a request to have all tranactions to/in my existing account done in lawful money. Handed it to a teller and had her sign and date it. Ask her to give me a copy and send the letter to the legal department.

My demand was made. I sent a copy to my case file in the district court.

The teller later called and said restricted signature were not acceptable. But notification over the phone is not a legal notice either.

Next time I went to the same bank and cashed a check, I signed it with the restricted endorsement and it was not questioned. I have not received any notice from the legal department. Make sure you are opening a non-interest bearing checking account and you should have less problems. OP sk2
