Hi, I'm the OP and I have done this. I have set up my accounts at the bank to only handle lawful money. I am also the member of a email group of some 80 people who have all done this. They pay no taxes on there income. None have gone to jail or been fined for frivolous filings thus far and some are going on 4 years. I have seen their 1040 filings, some have gotten refunds (one that are employed) and some have not had to pay (exempt or self employed. sk

Yes, small businesses can do it. You as sole proprietor can make all your deposits and withdrawals in lawful money.

The first page has a pretty good summery as well as page eight. I don't have time to go through all the pages and do a summery as there are many subjects touched on that are well worth reading. Up to you my friend. sk

All very interesting info. I might have missed it, but exactly how are you supposed to be able to PROVE that you DEMANDED lawful money?

For instance, when you buy something, how do you prove that you stamped 12 U.S.C 411 on the FRN's? Take a picture?

Its only when you bank that you need to worry about demanding lawful money or writing checks.

If you find a dollar on the ground, what is it FRN or treasury bill. Its up to you. It is what you say it is. Your choice.

Keep copies of all transactions for lawful money done with the bank as this is a way to show you have been redeeming lawful money. Like when you cash a check from someone else. sk

Ok, here's another question.

I just got a stamp made that says:

DEPOSIT FOR CREDIT ON ACCOUNT OR EXCHANGE FOR NON-NEGOTIABLE FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES OF FACE VALUE

That's it? Just stamp this on the back of any checks and all is well? What verbiage is actually demanding lawful money?

I just saw this on another forum where someone made a stamp that says:

Redeemed in Lawful Money
Pursuant to 12 USC § 411

Wouldn't that be more prudent to this cause?

One is for deposits and the other is for cashing checks.

When you sign

sign as first name, middle name DBA as first name, middle name,last name. this would be signed under the stamp you have made. Take care. sk

I heard a discussion on another site where someone pointed out the fact that banks MUST comply with this law, so if you get any flack from bank tellers or managers, etc., be sure to show them this:

member bank or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this
chapter applicable thereto, all of the rights, privileges, and
franchises of such association granted to it under the National

chapter, shall be thereby forfeited. Any noncompliance with or
violation of this chapter shall, however, be determined and
adjudged by any court of the United States of competent
jurisdiction in a suit brought for that purpose in the district or
territory in which such bank is located, under direction of the
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System by the Comptroller
of the Currency in his own name before the association shall be
declared dissolved. In cases of such noncompliance or violation,
other than the failure to become a member bank under the provisions
of this chapter, every director who participated in or assented to
the same shall be held liable in his personal or individual
capacity for all damages which said bank, its shareholders, or any
other person shall have sustained in consequence of such violation.
Such dissolution shall not take away or impair any remedy against
such corporation, its stockholders, or officers, for any liability
or penalty which shall have been previously incurred.

Not sure how that applies to redeeming lawful money and a bank refusing to honor your request. Additional info would be helpful thanks. sk
