That's why you have to pick a mainstream translation and use mainstream theology if you want to argue verses in any Scripture. You'll still get arguments from various denominations, but you'll be holding the majority view. Otherwise you have to be specific and go after one denomination using their preferred translation and their theological views. A good example is how atheists learned to attack KJV-only types as they are an easier target than mainstream Christianity due to their extremely illogical position of KJV inerrancy, so they use that theology (inerrancy) to attack them with facts (and it doesn't help matters for the KJV-only crowd to also give them an agreed upon translation). I mean, observe the New Age Movement. It is very difficult to attack as there is allegedly no central thread and no religious text (not entirely true, as they do tend to share some common traits that can be attacked such as relativism of truth, ie the only way such a loose religious movement could be held together, and some form of pantheism even if it is only at the root of the dualism or polytheistic beliefs of various denominations). But anyway, I am getting off topic - you get the point.
