How have you managed to make it without a license all this time? It's something I'd strive for, but not sure how possible it'd be.

Good luck with this.

What a pathetic response.

Is there anyone with a brain out there?

Is it possible to have a constitutional discussion on godlike?

The country you live in has laws. If you don't like them your recourse is to vote in a government that will change them, buy your own private island, or move to a country that has no laws. It has already been explained that vehicle licensing does not infringe your "right" to travel, since a personal vehicle is not required in order to do so. You can walk, bike, take a bus/train or hire a taxi among other options that do not require a license.

I've already won "on the blogs".

Get back to us with how you do in the courtroom.

"The country you live in has laws."

Yes.. I can quote them for you..

Its called the constitution!

The "laws" you are referrong to are actually called "statutes"..

Statutes are NOT LAWS!!

ANY statute.. that contradicts a constitutional right..is a NULL law..

IT DOES NOT EXIST!

"The verb license or grant licence means to give permission."

"giving official permission to do something"

permission???

To travel??

Permission is not required.
 Quoting: ShaneCMuir

Permission is not required to travel by foot, horse, passenger train, sea vessel, or airplane.

To operate a motor vehicle, passenger train, sea vessel, or airplane, a valid license is required.

Notice it's not called a traveller's license or a passenger's license, but a DRIVER'S license.

Nobody can stop you from walking. You're licensed for a particular mode of transport - or not - doesn't mean you can't still travel. They do have buses in Oz, right??

Nobody can stop me from travelling.

Mode of transport?.. irrevelvant!!
 Quoting: ShaneCMuir

Then just use that as an argument and you should get off scott-free, right?

So what's the problem... the world according to Shane Muir is how the world needs to work.

I beg to differ.

It is the "LAW OF THE LAND"

The ONLY way to dissolve it is to have a referendum on "dissolving the constitution".

Have you voted on a referendum like that lately?

Go to these two sites. Go to youtube and watch the video,
then go to the site.

[link to www.youtube.com]

[link to www.marcstevens.net]

Go to Marc Stevens site.

Learn about the word "Standing" and what it means.

After the cop testifies do ask these three things.

Did you file the fine?

What is the standing?

What is the elements of the standing?

You will get an objection from the States attorney, which is okay. That is what you want the States attorney to do.

By asking the cop these three questions, it will show he has purgered himself and then all of his testimony will have to be omitted. That means you have no witness that can testify against you.
The fine should be thrown out then.
If the judge does not, then you can point out that the judge is working for the city just as the States attorney is, and again, that makes the court trial null and void because you can't get a fair trial.
Good luck.

i looked into this stuff awhile ago for myself. It appears that you really don't need a license to travel, but i am interested in the courts interpretation of this rule as it applies to roads, YOu are Australian using Australian roads paid for by Australian money that should mean something but its the interpretation that will get ya....

DOn't buy everything aussiespeedingfines says, they win some they lose some...

Please let us know how you go,

Do LOTS of reading, look at case studies (precedents) and major decisions relating to the matter before you go to court so you don't look stupid.

Talk to lawyers about appropriate courtroom behaivour before you go, especially if you have never been before.

Good luck! I am hoping you will win.

I need to travel.

AND

I have the right to.

If an employee of the state parliament issues me a ticket that conflicts with my constitutional rights.. who wins?

Can we have two masters?

The answer is in the bible.

Which is where our legal system comes from by the way.

Our country's constitutiuon overides our state's constitution.

You cannot serve two masters.

Section 92 of my country's constitution says that I have the right to travel.. "unburdened by state restrictions, regulations or obstructions"

I plan to continue to do so.

do you plan to step through the gates into maritime law, as the rumor has it, and submit yourself to the arbitrary decision of the captain of the ship otherwise known as a judge?

according to some, it doesn't matter how much homework you do if you give up your rights before you begin to argue your case.

I went 5 years this last time without one.
Traveled the whole country too, with my job.
Didn't even know it for the first 3 years.
In my state you don't have to renew for 8 years.
I was cautious and lucky, I guess.
Finally I got it back.
