Another riot in my home town. Lameduck mayor leaves office with last hurrah.

Going to the market a couple of days ago with my visiting sister and daughter, we encountered a riot. The mayor is trying to remove all the shopkeepers to a new market because developers want the land. The shopkeepers refuse to leave so the mayor on his last day in office sent in the cops, and a notary to supposedly escort those shopkeepers who want to leave. This was a pretext, of course, to confront and forcefully remove those who refuse to leave. The place was packed with people and many were caught in the crossfire of rocks and bottles and batons. What a rush!
