I think a lot of things are happening underground that we don't know about.

It was really weird. It was like a sonic boom. Freaked my dog out.

Oh well. Guess it wasn't earthquake, but it's not the first time it's happened. If anybody hears anything interesting, let me know.

My Daughter lives in Zanesville, 60 miles east of Columbus I will ask her.

The same thing happened down in the Dayton area a couple of hours ago. I was on a call and couldn't go outside to see where it was coming from but it was a huge boom that kept going and going for maybe as much as 2 minutes before it stopped.

OP are you near the AF base?

Wow. This one only lasted a second or two. I've heard and felt them before and only one was actually reported as an earthquake.

Unexplained boom heard in Brown and neighboring counties

Georgetown, OH (FOX19) - People in the eastern reaches of the Tri-state are trying to figure out what the big noise was that they heard in the sky Thursday night. Brown County dispatchers say they heard a booming sound their station in Georgetown, and had calls from Mt. Orab in the northern part of the county, and from Ripley and Aberdeen on the river. Some Mt. Orab callers said it shook their homes.

Police in Hillsboro got seven calls shortly after 9 p.m. from people saying they had heard a sound. One thought it might have been in the neighborhood, but several other callers described it as a sonic boom. A Hillsboro dispatcher who was in Highland County toward Chillicothe saw a fighter jet that appeared to be in training dropping flares as it crossed the sky, but she didn't notice any boom sound.

Bracken county dispatchers say they had a couple calls from the east side of Augusta from people who said it shook their trailers. The sound was also heard in Mason County in Kentucky.

Brown county called Wright Patterson Air Force Base, but the base said they didn't know of anything that would have caused the boom.

I've been hearing strange sounds and booms here in Nebraska as well. I heard one yesterday that was like a massive dinosaur stomping its feet. I keep checking USGS, but NOTHING.

Also, I should mention that there have been DOZENS of airplanes flying over my house, spraying shit all morning. Dozens upon dozens of them. And I live NO WHERE near an airport. The closest AFB is 2 hours away.

I got 13 of these planes on camera the other day, spraying shit.

I'm going to just guess that what you heard was a sonic boom. I mean, I could be wrong! Has there been a lot of air activity that you've noticed?

Ohio is on the outer edge, but still involved, with the New Madrid Fault. There will soon be some major occurances.

Preparation is wise. Store food, water, meds and campout supplies in outshed or out side wall side of garage etc, for easy access and do your best to eliminate dangers of objects that could fall on you while sleeping, etc.

Tie large objects like free standing china cupboards to studs.

Make sure your water tank is secure and tied...you may need the uncontaminated water it contains.

Better safe than sorry.

You'll hear fighter jets in Columbus passing over to Wright Patterson in Dayton occasionally. You hear the boom, but by the time you get out and look up into the sky, they're long gone. They can rattle windows at times, though.

Thanks for the tips. I'm on a farm and have my own well, livestock and an RV for bugging out. I'm not totally prepped but better off than most, in many ways.
