The problem is people will fight tooth and nail to continue getting their gov check. Doesn't matter if it is a bank or food stamps.

When times are hard, governments are in place to guarantee the survival of its ppl, (I know its not the norm nowadays) when the work load is depleted it is the governments responsibility to ensure that the population is fed, educated and ready to work.

I bow to sensibility, people who exploit it are down right scavengers, this I accept, but when we are faced with exported manufacturing and a consumer society this is what is left.

People are not the problem, work is! If we are all payed a wage with money that has worth and stability (none of this hidden tax money, i.e. inflation!) then its to everyone's benefit to work. The people, communities and the country you live in as a whole!

I would be pleased if the money I am paying to the govt for social security is still there when I am of age. This is a contract with society. The govt can pay it all back in a fat check if they like but anything else is robbery and anyone that makes that possible is a thief.
