Switzerland's central bank stopped accepting debt of Portugal
The debt of Portugal ceased to serve as collateral for funding from the Swiss National Bank (SNB) in 2009. At stake are the "ratings"of the Republic, whose quality does not meet the necessary requirements.

The Business BNS questioned about whether the debt of Portugal had been "excluded" as an asset accepted as collateral, as happened in Ireland last Wednesday. The answer was that "only those assets that meet all requirements in relation to 'rating' credit and liquidity are accepted as collateral" for the BNS. "Portugal does not meet these criteria and therefore is not eligible"by the authority, explained an official source.
