MagicJack's Latest Update May Erase Voicemail Message and Set Default Password
Apparently the new MagicJack (MJ) update may erase your voicemail (VM) message; not messages left by callers, but your voicemail greeting. And it may reset your VM access password to default (1234).

It's what occurred to me. I couldn't access VM and my VM message was gone, replaced by the MJ computer message, where then VM was still functional. Next, I ran MagicFix and saw in the 'Frequently Asked Questions' the part about the default password being 1234.

So if you're having a problem with MJ's VM, login using '1234' then make a new VM message and reset your password.

THE END

It should run the update automatically, or you can run it from their website. Some folks have lost their contacts when it updates, so keep that in mind.

Re: MagicJack's Latest Update May Erase Voicemail Message and Set Default Password
I'm curious about the MagicJack and just how this phone co. operates.
A friend of mine bought one here in the US to use in Istanbul.
She spent about $30.00 for it, installed in on computer when she returned to Turkey, calls everyone in the US from it, and gets no bills from MagicJack.
How is this possible?
Any info. is appreciated.
