Someone is sounding paranoid!

from the article:
" In all likelihood, his real fear is that Russia's growing dependence on proprietary software, especially programs sold by foreign vendors, has immense implications for the country's national security. Free open-source software, by its nature, is unlikely to feature secret back doors that lead directly to Langley, Va."
Facts are stubborn things;
and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."

We can never shed our sins and regrets, only accumulate more, a burden that we grow and carry until our deaths. The best we can do is learn to live with ourselves, to accommodate our pasts

I agree with the lower risks of hidden points of access but imo the financial savings, purchace licences etc would be in the billions of $'s, and also a sly slap in the face to western corperations.
