If I'm figuring correctly...let's see.....as the myth goes....he died around 3 PM on Friday.....and then he was back up and good as new around 7 am Sunday....is that about right?

So what is that.....like 40 hours.... x 60 min in an hour = 2,400 minutes?


No wonder we have worshiped him for 2,000 years......that was some sacrifice. He missed a whole weekend of golf. Seems like he could have just waved his putter in the air and done the same thing? Why put himself through all that torture?

Wait another minute, how could a guy who obviously brought himself back to life and repaired his own body really die in the first place? Much less suffer? You think if you could walk on water and raise the dead that maybe you could block out pain? Or at least dissociate from it? And is feeling pain that much of a sacrifice anyway? The Romans crucified 10,000 people just like that. So why was Jesus' suffering special?


People give their lives for others all the time - and they have the good sense to stay dead so that people can say that the other person actually sacrificed their lives for them. I mean did Jesus' mother go around wailing and saying that Jesus died? When he was alive 40 hours later? She barely had time to mourn. Don't you think she may have been way happier than sad?


If your child drowned in a lake and the paramedics pulled him or her out and they were dead for like ten minutes and you started crying - but after 2 min of CPR, your kid came back to life, would you spend the next 2,000 years lamenting the fact that they had died for a few minutes? Or would you be happy as hell that they were alive?


So why are Christians so emotionally wrapped up in Jesus' death/sacrifice? And how is it that they can say that god gave up his only son? Where is Jesus now? Is he missing? Can god not find him?

Now, to answer these questions, you have to first pretend that Jesus was real.

Sigh...

I understand your frustration. But, there is much, much more to the imagery of the sacrifice of Christ than meets the eye at first...the true sacrifice is that "Christ", "Krishna", the "Enlightened One" entered into this realm of darkness to shed light. A way out. So that we may find escape.

To give this to us, the "son" of god descended into creation - to it's very depths...to the first cell and had to work it's way up...through various and incalculable lifetimes until it has ALMOST made it's way out.

The resurection of Christ has yet to come. But it comes soon. What is "Christ"? Look around the room you are in. Christ is reality. Christ is the light that shines upon the world...and Christ is that WITNESS that experiences the world through your five senses.

To accept Christ is to accept this moment as it is...right now.
