I'm learning a bit more about Kabbalah and have seen the Golden Dawn graded it's members in relation to the sephira. 0=0 means a member has basic membership The next four were introduction into Mysteries of matter. 1=10 would mean the member reached first initiation. 10 being the 10th Sephira, malkuth, earth element. 2=9 represented initiation into Yesod the 9th Sephira and element Air. 3=8 - Hod, water 4=7 - Netzach, fire 5=6 - Initiation into the Inner order, the Mysteries of Tipareth at the center of the tree so on and so forth, ascending the sephira A book I'm interested in reading is Israel Regardie's Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic. Of course there is much more to explore, and for me, merely a beginner, the Kabbalah is the starting point. I think once I have a better understanding I will be ready to see the significance of the Golden Dawn with more appreciation. |

Is the Golden Dawn that exists today the same Golden Dawn of the Crowley era? Seems like I read here at one time a discussion where someone said that today's Golden Dawn was a different group... Thanks :-) |
