Alot of theories say that ghosts hang around because they really don't know they are dead because the death can be sudden or they have such a connection to a place they don't want to leave.
Accept them, let them know you are aware of them, and let them know what happened.
If all they are doing is letting themselves be known, I wouldn't worry. It may seem creepy at first but you can get used to them.
I have a spirit that I constantly see and feel at my house and on my property - but it has never been threatening so I told her she could stay if she wanted.

Do a cleansing ritual. Make sure to use Irish Spring and lotsa Axe body spray. The obnoxious smell will drive the evil demons out. The bad part is you won't have any girlfriends for awhile.

The mother of my roommate used to saw ghosts in this hosue to.. the whole neighbourhoud knows it..people got killed here thats why the price of this went so cheap.. this house was years abandoned nobody wanted to move in this house..

No I didnt freak out when she said look outside there is a man standing there I looked I did'nt see anybody.. but after the story I freaked out and I could'nt sleep..

Luckily for me they dont have gasses anymore in this house to warm it

I have been told that my house is haunted, and yeah, there have been strange noises and such, but to me it's just the house...older houses do make strange noises.
I live by the maxim that the living can do you more harm than the dead, and so far over the last 15 years here thats been true.
