In 2011, the consumer is all about buying from a business that is dedicated to creating a quality product, dedicated to doing the right thing, regardless of the size of the business or the number of products they produce. I love to make my own pickles with just pickling cucumbers, dill weed and sea salt in a jar, set out for a couple days on the counter which causes them to ferment in a really healthy way. They taste amazing, so much better than the vinegary store bought ones. Anyone can do it. I never calorie count either. If my pants start to feel tight, I cut back on richer foods for a few days and eat more veggies. That's how the French do it. They don't own scales. Food is to be enjoyed, not feared. Fats are good, as long as they are the right kinds of fats. Animals fats are good, not bad! Sugar is the real enemy, and naked carbs, white flour, etc. |
