an alternative from me is..trading skills...for example someone is good at fixing cars and is asked for help with a vehicle and the person asking for help, let's say gives a good massage....well they trade in a way..

if that is way over your head, then how about a money system that is fair..remove the ideas of inflation and interest rates..
