The oddest thing we have in our survival gear is a field surgical kit. It is completely sterile so I cannot detail it much beyond that it includes scapels and large saws in case one might have to perform amputations, or stitch wounds up. Its a little creepy but if you needed it, it would be good to know its all sterile and ready to go.
My personal odd things are a menstrual cup which makes the
stress of monthly sanitary needs less-

My other favs are solar...flashlight, solar cooker, I can pasteurize water with, and cook and fry with. Also solar
battery packs which can recharge cell phones or computers,
as well as radios and lights. I have used these things,

for camping and cooking so know they will work for us.
So far, no need for the surgical kit...hopefully it will
remain on its shelf for a long time!
