WOW - in Dubai, people are speculating that a meteor crashed near Festival City, leaving a 1m crater (pic in article)!!! Here's the article. Just heard this from a friend who lives there, this supposedly happened last night - same night as the green light! Connection??

Picture is too small to research. Also i don't know where picture is, so it makes researching more harder.

I almost doubt it's the one from last night.

Ok is this normal? On many links I posted the news agency is asking the question "Did you see it? If so, post your comments below or send us your pictures"...do they always do that? Sounds to me more like they want to get all the eye witness reports they can and also get all the pictures before they're being posted on the internet.

Probably the 4th news agency that does that, also on msnbc...also search Twitter and Facebook. Full with people reporting it.

If some connection is with that meteorite hit or maybe it isn't, i don't know, it don't show deeper in hole any pictures so "blank research" is result of that one.

If it have some connection, as i was saying, if it have some connection, thing is, we are going trough asteroid field or some object holding asteroids toward earth what then hit to earth as meteorites.

But, we would have seen more, so this green meteorite or asteroid because it didn't yet hit to earth, or maybe it isn't asteroid even, maybe it is something else like comet because of "burning tail" as one witness said "burning tail" but if it was comet it would have moved more "sight-seeable" and not like that, so on it isn't comet even.

So where we get to now is we don't know exactly what is it and what it was about. We must research this more to understand. We can see if there was deaths where that green "let's say it green meteorite" did fly over. If there was deaths of radiation, we know then it opened ways to magneticfield to radiation, with its form what it was.

These are just thoughts so think and figure out. I researching this myself what i will find and if i find something i will tell. ;)

I also read comments now and seems people in Dubai have also seen some lights! This is getting interesting...debate is if that's really a crater from a meteorite or a sinkhole!

Thanks for your input - interesting. I know if it lands on earth it's a meteorite, if it just burns up in the atmosphere it's a meteor.

I have just used word "asteroid and meteorite", but i continue use those 2 so i will be clear when i am talking to people. :P

Is it satellite?

- It should be very fast satellite what leaking some odd green stuff and burning. It should be very heat resistant to survive so long from burning, but it should not "FLASH" because as you put something on fire, it is not flashing lights like from lamp. Also it moved fast according to surveillance camera. Like bang and gone.

- Very fast.
- Burning tail.
- Green.
- Flashing.

Satellites does not do this?

Well heck no. Nobody here goes outside. Mom even brings food to the basement and gives us sponge baths ;-)

Well... after reading this thread, I should have. I should have also looked at the clock. Problem is, I live right next to an Interstate and sometimes big trucks make a lot of noise - this would have been the BIGGEST LOUDEST truck I've ever heard, if that's what it was. Also, we have snow on the ground and a full moon... I think I just figured that's what made things look so bright through my blinds.

Oh well, you live and learn. Sorry I was wasn't more observant, but I was sleepy.

Wow..Until I saw this thread, I thought I might be nuts. Last night, I thought the full moon was casting a very strange blueish green cast. It lasted for a while..reflecting off the snow to make for a very weird scene. I thought it may have been the NOrthern Lights..but knew it was most likley not. I live about 50 miles north of Chicago. Thanks OP!

WOW - that's very cool...so more people on GLP have indeed seen this too. Now if we could just get this pin to get input from some more eye witnesses and GLP experts on this subject, that would be awesome!!!

Do you see any differences with snow color there?

I'm in south Michigan and there is no change in snow color. Actually it snowed all day!

Why do you ask about the color of snow?
